Birthday Card

Well another month is coming to an end, but that just means we are getting closer to spring. Today's post is of a birthday card I made for my very dear friend and "crafting partner in crime" as my Hubby calls her. It is so nice to have someone so special in your life to share your crafting passion with. I do have several other friends that share this passion with me also and I am meeting more and more wonderful crafters every day through this blog. This blogging world, that I was hesitant to get into, is a fabulous way to meet very kind, caring, giving, talented people. Thank you to all of you for sharing your creations, your help, and for your flourishing friendships.

This is a one layer card made with SU Very Vanilla card stock. I ran it through my Big Shot with a CuttleBug Embossing Border to achieve the raised flowers. I then added some Stickles and a green pearl in the center of the flowers. I flanked the sides of the embossed images with some strips of SU's DSP and ran my Krylon Gold Leaf pen down the sides of of the DSP to give it a finished look. The sentiment is my go-to birthday stamp. It is by CC Rubber Stamps and I've had it for years. I just love the font on this stamp. I stamped it in Versa Mark and embossed it with gold embossing powder and added three more little green pearls under it to help it stand out.

I also stamped the envelope for this card as I was hand delivering it. This is a poly clear stamp from Hero Arts. I colored the flowers with watercolor pencils and, again, embossed the Happy Birthday in Gold to match the card.

Thanks for spending some time here today. I really appreciate it. See you tomorrow.

S & S Sketch Challenge #58

Well today I went way out of my comfort zone. I did a card with absolutely NO stamping at all. The background paper is from the "Once In A Lifetime" mat stack by DCWV and I sponged the edges with SU's Sage Shadow. The Apricot pieces are from a SU "prints pack" and I sponged them with Apricot Appeal then paper pierced each of them. The square mat is Elegant Eggplant, also from SU. I found the SWAK piece and the large pink brad in my box of stash. I topped it off with sparkle gems from Hero Arts. I haven't decided if I like it or not, but what the heck, you've got to try different things in life once in a while, huh? I am hoping, though, that some hero's family member will be happy to receive a SWAK card.

I have to get ready to cook up some snacks so that I can sit down later and watch my NASCAR race. They are racing in Phoenix today and I'm pretty sure there is no snow there. Thanks for stopping by today.

Love You Card

Well we got up this morning to find another coating of snow. Just about an inch. I don't mind the snow and it is fun to watch the birds playing around in it, but I am getting anxious to get out in the yard and do some gardening. Anyway today I have a very simple Love You card that is going in my next OWH box. The image is a stamp from SU's Easter Blossoms set in Sahara Sand ink on Very Vanilla card stock. I then colored in the flowers with watercolor pencils. The sentiment is from SU's Well Scripted stamp set that is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The ribbon is SU's Certainly Celery. Even though this card only took about five minutes to make, I love the simplicity of it.

Stamps R Us Challenge

Hi Everyone,
This is my second posting of the day. I am so happy that I am not hurting that I'm spending my whole afternoon in my craft room. Today is the first time I am taking part in a Stamps R Us Challenge. YEA! I'm branching out. We had to make a card with a "For The Girls" theme. I used a DiGi stamp by the artist Sherry Hickey and colored her with Copic Markers. I matted that to Taken with Teal CS by SU and matted it to a designer paper that I found in my stash. A second matting to more Taken with Teal and my card base is SU's Whisper White. I made Taken with Teal circles using a small dauber and placed a heart shaped brad in the center of the circles. The "love you" sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes by SU. Thanks for stopping by today.

MWT Any Occasion Challenge

This week OWH's Mid Week Challenge was to make an "any occasion card". I started this card by stamping SU's Floral background stamp, which is retired, onto Whisper White card stock and then applying SU's Gold ep and heat set it. My sentiment Stamp is from Hampton Art and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the flowers with SU's Red Red Marker and went over them with a GellyRoll pen. Liquid Pearls were added to the flower centers. I attached strips of Real Red ribbon and card stock. I dotted the card stock with my Signo White Gel pen. and finished off the ribbon with three pearls. The floral piece and the sentiment piece are both matted on to SU's Basic Black card stock. My card base is SU's Whisper White. I can't seem to get a good picture of this card, but, hopefully, you can get a good idea of what it looks like.
Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days, but I hurt my back doing a new exercise (won't try that one again any time soon). But I am up and out of bed and back in my craft room. Thanks for stopping by.

S & S Sketch Challenge

Today's card is for OWH's S & S Sketch Challenge #57. My card base is SU's Whisper White CS and my supporting colors are Lavender Lace and Elegant Eggplant also by SU. The butterfly is from StampCraft, colored with Copics and highlighted with a Gelly Roll pen. It is cut out with Scallop Circles Nestabilities and matted on Circle Nestabilities. I used a SU marker to add dots on the scallops. The "Love You" stamp is from Teenty Tiny Wishes from SU and cut out with SU's Word Window punch and mounted on a label punch from SU. The flowers are also from a SU punch. My designer paper is ages old and was in my scrap folder. I added heart shaped and round "jewels" for some bling. Hope you enjoy.

Wild Wasabi Cards

Hi Everyone
I just can't seem to get away from green today. I made two card using SU's Wild Wasabi Green.
The first card is stamped with the two step stamping method using SU's Fast and Fabulous set. The other color on this card is SU Cameo Coral. I used my cutter with the picking blade and then matted it on black CS and matted that on Wild Wasabi CS and, again, matted that to basic black CS and mounted all that on Whisper White CS. Did some sponging with Cameo Coral and added three pearls for a little accent.

My second card, again, is Wild Wasabi, black and white. The butterfly stamp is from StampCraft and I colored it with Copics. I cut it out with Circle Nestabilites and matted it on a Scalloped Circle Nestabilities. I mounted it on a piece of Wild Wasabi that I ran through the crimper. I added gold accent stripes with my Krylon Gold Leaf pen on both the green and black pieces of cs. I decided not to use any sentiment for this card. Quite often the heroes we send these cards to like something home without any sentiment.

S & S Challenge

Hi Everyone,

My post today is a card I made for the Stars and Stamps "Masculine Midweek Throwdown Challenge". My card iscard made with a stamp I purchased about 5 years ago. The stamp is from All Night Media. I chalked SU's whisper white paper with Barely Banana, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery (all SU colors), ran it through my Big Shot using Large Pinking Circles Nestibalities, matted it on another Nestibalities and adhered it to a SU Sahara Sand card base which I had stamped with SU's Sanded stamp. Mother's Day Card

Mother's Day will be here sooner than we think and those of us making cards for OWH have already started sending cards to OWH for both Mother and Father's Day. Here is one of the Mother's Day cards I am sending. The card base is SU Very Vanilla that I ran through my Big Shot using the Finial Press EF. I stamped with Versa Mark and Black Embossed a flower from SU's retired Blooming Beautiful stamp set. I made the background paper for both the circle and the label with Alcohol Inks on glossy paper. I really like using those inks to come up with all different colored papers. The colors I used this time were Senorita Magenta, Silver and Sunset Orange. I also used Nestabilities Standard Circles and Fancy Labels. The sentiment is Teeny Tiny Wishes from SU. I apologize for the picture, but no matter how I tried I could not get it to photograph without that glare.Hope you enjoy.

S & S Sketch #56

Today I made a card for OWH's S & S Sketch #56. My card base is SU Barely Banana run though the Big Shot with a Cuttlebug's Swiss Dot EF. The image is from a retired SU set titled Summer By The Sea and the sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes. I colored it with my Copic markers. I added a strip of SU Regal Rose card stock that I edged with a Martha Stuart edge punch. For my finishing touch I added two K&Company brads. Thank you for stopping by.

Quick & Simple

Here are two cards I made this week. I totally lost my MoJo for a while so I had to resort to the quick and simple style of card making.

The Mother's Day card base is made from SU's Very Vanilla card stock and I just added a piece of designer paper I found in a box. I cut it with craft sissors and glued it onto the card base. Then added the sentiment and embossed it with gold EP. It can't get any easier than that.

The Father's Day card base is SU's Creamy Caramel. I stamped the Eagle, from SU's "In Wilderness" stamp set on to a piece of scrap paper I found. I sponged the edges with Creamy Caramel Ink and matted that on to a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock and one more mat on to another piece of paper from my "scrap paper box" I stamped the sentiment, which is from SU's "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set. That is a great set. I use it quite often. I added a small vertical piece of Chocolate Chip card stock and finished it with three silver brads and I was done.

It only took me a few minutes to make make both of these cards and now I have another couple of cards to add into my box going to our heroes this week. Sometimes you just have to take the easy way out and make things that don't tax your brain too much until your MoJo returns.
Thanks for stopping by. See you tomorrow.

S & S Sketch Challenge #55

This is a card I did for the S & S Sketch Challenge for today. I used all Stampin Up papers and the ribbon is also from Stampin Up. The stamps were from the AMuse Hero Mail Stamp Set. Have a great day.

A simple Easter Card

Today's card is a very simple one, but I like it. The rabbit stamp is an Inkadinkado Stamp that a very dear friend of mine gave me. The sentiment stamp is from AMuse. I use this sentiment stamp often, but I just love it. I'm sorry I cannot tell you where I got the designer paper. I have had it for yeas. With making so many cards for OWH I am finally getting to use some of my papers that I had not used in a while. You know how you can't keep sending people cards with the same paper and stamps all the time. So this is great for me to use these papers that I love again. My regret with this card is that I did not black emboss the "Somebunny Loves You" stamp. I think it would have really popped had I done that. Thank you for checking out my blog.

Somebunny Loves You

This is one of the many Easter cards I am getting ready to send to OWH for our heroes overseas. This Bunny stamp in an old one I've had for quite some time. It is from Inkadinkado. The sentiment stamp is from AMuse Artstamps. I used two Scallop Ovals from Nestabalities and I did a little coloring on the bunny with my Copics. Thanks for stopping by.

A Purr-fectly Cute Birthday Card

Hi
This is a card I made for a very good friend's birthday. She is a cat lover so this one seemed just right for her. This stamp is from the "Purr-fectly Delightful" stamp set by Gina K. Designs. I love this set. I will be posting more cards within the next couple of days with some more of the stamps from this set. I also used a Labels Nine Netabilities and a Stampin Up embossing folder to complete this card. Have a great day.

Christmas Wreath

I know Christmas Season is over, but I still have a few of my decorations up and this is one I hate to take down. This is a hanging wreath I made in a class at a craft store in Rhode Island by the name of Bella Art. This is all made with 12 x 12 and 6 x 6 sheets of paper. It took two and a half hours to make and you need a lot of room to work in when you make it, but it was fun to make and I really like the way it came out. Thanks for stopping by.

Molly All Askew

I had to share this photo with you. I took this picture right after Molly decided to roll around on the floor and then pick up one of her many toys and shake it from side to side. In Yorkie speak we call that "ratting" as this breed was originally bread to "rat" out rodents. So here is Molly All Askew.

Challange Card

Operation Write Home hosts different challanges every week and this was one of those challanges they had this past Sunday. You had to use this layout for your card. I quickly came up with this card and then had many problems uploading my card to OWH for their challange. This is also why I have not posted for the past few days. I have now solved the problem. On this card I used two different embossing folders (not sure you can see that in the photo) and designer paper along with an old Stampin Up Stamp. Hope you enjoy.
