Happy Thanksgiving

Good Friday Afternoon,

I've had this stamp for years and I really like it, and yet I keep forgetting about it when I am making Thanksgiving Day Cards. I'm so glad that I thought of it this year. The only markings on the stamp are DRS. I have to admit that I have no idea what company that stands for. As you can see I matted it several times and used some Alcohol Inks paper that I made last week. The leaves were made by rubbing different autumn colors onto white card stock with a dauber then punching them out. I love the look you get by doing this. I learned this fabulous trick from Carol Longacre.
Thanks Carol, I learn so much and get so many wonderful ideas from you. I'm hoping to be back in the morning with another posting. See you then. Thanks so much for spending a part of your day here.

Close to Cocoa Challenge C4C12

Hi Everyone,

Happy Thursday. Today I thought I'd try to squeeze in another challenge card. More than two challenges in one week is a big deal for me. I really wish I could do more challenges, but it just doesn't work out that way. I think the problem is that I'm just getting older and slower. Anyway I picked Sunny Suqirrel as my image today. It is one of the wonderful images from the SNSS stamp line. I colored it with Copics and cut him out with Nestabilities. I used two different papers from an older Stampin Up 6 x 6 pack that I've had for quite some time now. Our challenge was to use stripes on our card so I think this qualifies. I also thought the flowered paper went along well with the image. The sentiment is from Simply Stamped. This card will go into my next OWH box which should be going out next week. So far today is beautiful but we are expecting thunder showers this afternoon and of course, hurricane Irene on Sunday. So for now I am enjoying the sunshine. I hope you all have sunshine where ever you are. See you tomorrow. I know you are all busy and I appreciate everyone single one of you who takes a minute to stop by my blog.

S & S Mid Week Throw Down

Good Wednesday Evening,
Todays challenge over at the Stars and Stamps Blog was to make Thanksgiving Card for Any Hero. An Any Hero card is when we send cards to the heroes, themselves, and not for them to send home. We usually write a note of thanks to them for their service, so this weeks' challenge is very appropriate. My image and backgroud stamp are both from the Gina K Designs set titled Autumn Splender. I stamped the pumpkin twice, once directly on to the background paper and again onto white card stock colored it with my Copics, then cut out just the pumpkin and attached it to my background paper sitting atop the leaves. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with it for my first attempt. I usually do not even try to cut things out because I'm not so good at cutting. A person has to know their limitations. I matted all of that onto Alcohol paper that I made this morning for this card. The other colors are SU's Basic Black and Pear Pizzazz. I hope you all had a nice day and wish you a good one again tomorrow. See you then. Thanks for stopping by today.

S & S Sketch Challenge #83

Hello Everyone,
My post for today is for the Sketch Challenge over at the S & S Blog for Operation Write Home. My papers and card stock are all from Stampin Up. I cut the required 2" circle from Very Vanilla Card Stock and then used a couple of store bought glittered flowers that I sprayed clear laquer on and then covered with clear embossing powder to be sure the glitter would not come off.
The sentiment is also from SU and I punched it out with a heart punch and then ran it through the crimper. I enjoyed this challenge and will definitely do some more cards using this sketch. I think it makes for a very nice card. Thank you for stopping by today. Hopefully I'll have another card for you tomorrow. Enjoy your evening.

A CASEd card

Good Friday Morning.
Well as I was going through my favorite blogs the other day I came across this design that I hadn't thought to do in quite a while, so I decided to copy it. I'm so sorry that I can't remember whose card it is that I am CASing. If you are reading this blog, thanks so much for the idea. The card is self explanatory, but I will mention that I used the SU square lattace embossing folder and the button is also from SU. I also used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder. I think it could be a great masculine card. Got to run to start a busy day, so I'll hope to see you tomorrow morning. Thanks for stopping by.

Just Saying Hello

Good Tuesday Morning All,
For today's card I found this little strip of paper left over so I decided to work with it. This is paper I made using Alcohol Inks and then I stamped some butterflies on it in white and gold. Of course I like this paper very much and can't seem to duplicate it. Isn't that always the way? Anyway, I matted that onto Basic Back and added some dots with a White Gen Pen. The sentiment is from AMuse. I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder, which is one of my favortes. CAS at is finest. LOL Thanks for taking a minute to stop by. I really appreciate it. See you tomorrow.

Christmas in August

Well I've begun! It's never too early to start my Christmas cards and here are my first two for this year. I got this adorable image titled Westie In Stocking from Stichy Bear Stamps and colored it with Copics. The designer paper for the red stocking card is something I've had for years so I'm sorry that I can't tell you who it was from and the paper for the green stocking card is from K & Company. Have yourselves a great Tuesday and thank you for stopping by.

My image is a stamp from a Gina K Designs stamp set titled Purr-fectly Delightful. This is an adorable set with an assortment of kitty related items as well as flowers, mice and cute sentiments. I colored the image with Copics and used a black Spica pen for the centers of the flowers. The sentiment if also from SU as are the three punches. I wish you all a nice day. Just Dropping In

Hello All,

Well it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day today, so it's off to the beach. I like to do that a couple of times a year. For my post today I used an image from Stichy Bear Stamps and colored it with Copics. I used rub ons on Mr & Mrs. Owl's bellies. The sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly and I cut it out with Ribbon Banners Nestabilities after I sponged it. I added some little orange hearts around with a stamp from Memory Box. The card base was run through the Big Shot using a Jim Holtz Alterations embossing folder. I brayered some Chocolate Chip ink onto the folder prior to running it though the machine to give a bit more of a realistic look to the tree truck. Thank you for taking a minute out of your day to stop by. See you tomorrow.

A Sunflower Birthday

Today I have a real quick post. This is my DIL's birthday card. She loves sunflowers so I found one in my stash. I just added that onto a Labels Nine Nestabilities and tucked some leaves under it. The Celebrate sentiment is from a retired SU set. I used the Sahara Sand for my card base again today and used the same SU background stamp that I used on my card for yesterday's post. Sometimes I get carried away with certain stamps. I especially like the effect this particular stamp gives on the Sahara Sand. Sorry my post is so short, but runing around today. See you soon and thank you so much for stoppng by today.

Thinking of You

For today's post I used an image from Stichy Bear Stamps that, to me, just reminds me of something a couple might see taking a walk along the sea shore or the docks on a fall or winter day. For some reason it conjures up thoughts of a nice calm quiet day. The type of day you would stop and reflect on the good moments of your life. I used Sahara Sand card stock from SU as a base and stamped it with a SU background stamp. For some reason I used the case that stamp came in and now I can't think of the name of that stamp. Sorry. I just printed my image and sponged the edges while it was in an Oval Nestabilities. Mounted that on some Night of Navy card stock. The piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock was punched out with SU's scallop punch. As you can see I got a little crazy with my white dots. The sentiment is also from SU. Gotta run. Hope to see you again soon.

S & S Mid Week Throw Down Challenge

Good Afternoon All,
This week over at Stars and Stamps Blog the Mid Week Throw Down was to make a "Thinking of You" cards for our heroes to send home to their family members. I used a digital image that came from DeeDee Digis, which I'm sorry to say have closed their doors. I colored it with Copics and just matted it on Whisper White and Real Red SU card stock. The sentiment came along with the pop corn image. The background paper is from my old Scrapbook Calendar. The little hear was also on that calendar paper. I just sponged the edges of the paper and mounted it all on Real Red card stock and again on White card stock. I thought this sentiment meant the same thing as Thinking Of You but said it in a real cute way. I hope the recipient gets a kick out of it.
Have a great day and thank you for taking a minute to stop by. I really appreciate it. See you tomorrow.

From The Heart

Good Morning,
For today's card I used a Silhouette Digi Image from Sticky Bear Stamps that I just love. This card was very easy for me because the minute I saw this Silhouette I could picture this card in my mind, which, believe me, doesn't happen that often. I just printed the image and cut it out using a Zig Zag blade on the cutter, matted it and then stamped the sentiment from a SU set titled Holidays & Wishes. Mounted it all on a piece of designer paper from the Old World Textured Pack from DCWV. Added a heart brad and I was done. I am hoping the recipient of this card truly knows how much the sender cares for him or her. I made it with a male sender in mind, but I don't think it came out too feminine looking so, maybe, it could be used for either gender. Thanks for spending a minute here with me today and I'll be back tomorrow. Have a great day.

S & S Sketch Challenge #81

Good Sunday Afternoon Everyone,

My post today is for the challenge over at Operation Write Home's Stars and Stamps Blog today. The colors I used were Stampin Up's Bashful Blue and Whisper White. My stamps are also from Stampin Up. The green paper is from Basic Grey. I'm going to keep this post very short today because I seem to be on a roll creating so I'm heading back to it immediately before I lose my mojo again. Thank you for taking the time to stop by today. I wish you all a great Sunday and I'll see you again tomorrow.

S & S Midweek Throw Down

Hi Everyone,
Well today we had a K-9 challenge over at OWH's Stars and Stamps. I used one of the freebee images from Operation Write Home. I believe our fearless leader, Sandy, is the artist on this one. If I'm wrong someone please let me know. I do want to give credit where it is due. Anyway I colored it with Copics and cut it out with square and scallop square Nestabilities. The designer paper is from Basic Grey. I added some grey paw prints and embossed it with the Swiss Dot embossing folder. An added green punched strip just seem to break things up a little and I liked the look. The sentiment is from SU. Thank you for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow.

Thinking of You

Good Tuesday Morning,
Today's post is about as simple as they can get. I just took a piece of SU's Handsome Hunter card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattace embossing folder, added a strip of light green paper from my stash and then stamped my sentiment which is from a retired SU set. I punched out some ZigZag from some spare pieces of Alcohol Inks paper I had, attached those and added three brads. It was simple and I think it makes a good masculine card. Have a great day. Thank you for stopping by. See you soon.
