Merry Monday Challenge #13

Hi All, This week I found out about this challenge titled  Merry Monday.  Leslie runs the challenge and the idea behind it is to give us a head start making Christmas cards and that is always a good thing.   Here is my card for this week's challenge.
As you can see it is made of  SU colors: Very Vanilla and Real Red. I used a retired SU stamp from the set titled Christmas Classics which was stamped in Versa Mark and gold embossed.  I embossed the background panel with a Sizzix snowflake embossing folder. The sentiment is a very old stamp and has no company name on it,  and the poinsettia is from my stash.    Well off to run errands.  Hope to see you later. Enjoy your day and I'd like to say Thank You for spending a minute of it here with me.

Mid Week Throw Down

Today's card is for the Stars & Stamps Mid Week Throw Down.  They challenged us this week to make a card using Cute Characters.  In my opinion this one qualifies.  This "cute" little guy is from Penny Black.  He seems very busy with his harvest and his butterflies, but I don't think he's that busy that he can't say "Hello" to a  family member or friend of some hero.
I colored the image with Copic markers and cut it out with both scallop and classic oval Nestabilities.  I don't know where the designer paper is from, it was in my stash.  The sentiment is from AMuse and it's cut out with SU Modern label punches and attached with Bakers Twine.
Well, hopefully I'm going to gt some more cards done this afternoon and I'll see you later on today or tomorrow.  Thanks so much for stopping by and saying hello.  It is really appreciated.

Father's Day Card

I'm back with a Father's Day card that I made for my next OWH box.

My image  is Football Cocoa from SNSS that I colored with my Copics. The background paper is made from Alcohol Inks and the sentiment and punches are from SU.  I went with a Nestabilities star and a Studio 112 star shaped gem in the center for an added little touch.   I ran the background paper through my Big shot with a Sizzix Striped embossing folder.    That's it for me tonight.  Hopefully I'll see you again tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by.

HMFMC#116

Hi Everyone,  Today I have a card for the House Mouse Challenge #116 "Let's Have A Party".

I used the "Soda Fitz" stamp for this card.  These little meeces look like their having fun, drinking up all the soda in the crate.  I colored the image with Copic Markers, reduced it on my printer then cut it out with a Nestabilities Label Nine. I don't know where the designer paper is from but it seemed to go with the party theme (seeing stars after drinking all the soda).   I ran my gold pen around the inside edge of the die before removing it from the image.  I added a couple of gold eyelets and some green Bakers Twine.  The sentiment is a long since retired set from SU.   I seemed to have picked up a shadow in the lower corner of the picture, I'm sorry about that.  A photographer I'm not-that's plain to see.  I think this card will go in my box that is heading out to "Send A Smile 4 Kids" this month.
This is a wonderful organization that sends cards to children in hospitals to bring a smile to their face.
Maybe, if you have a spare minute, you can check out this site and if you have any extra cards that you've made you could forward them to these children.  House Mouse stamps are just so darn cute I think kids will get a kick out of any card with these darling little mice on them.
Have a wonderful afternoon and evening and hopefully I'll see you again tomorrow.  Thanks for spending a minute or two here with me today.

Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #114

Good Morning blogger friends,
My card today is for the Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #114 found here.  I started with Very Vanilla Card Stock and used a background stamp from SU on the card base as well as the focal image.  The sentiment is also from SU. I made a frame for the focal image using Square Nestibilities in Basic Black.   The gems are by Kaiser and I made the two different background papers with Alcohol Inks.

Maybe, if I'm lucky, I'll get some more cards made today so I might be back later on tonight.  I wish you all a wonderful Sunday and, as always, I appreciate your visit here with me today.

OWH Mid Week Throw Down

Good Wednesday Morning, I have another very quick post today.  This one is for the Operation write Home's Mid Week Throw Down found here.  Our challenge was to use yellow and green.

I colored this House Mouse image titled Candlelit Dreams with Copics and then I reduced the picture to fit nicely on a A2 card so that I could use it for a Father's Day card for my next OWH box.  I added 4 brads and a retired SU sentiment.  The designer papers are also retired SU papers. I popped up the image to give it some more dimension.  I'm afraid that's it for me today.  I'd give anything to sit in here and "play all day" but that is just not in the cards (lol) for me today.  See you again soon.
As always I want to say thank you for stopping by.  I really do appreciate your visits.   Have a great day all of you.

S & S Sketch #113

A very quick post today for the Operation Write Home's S & S Sketch #113.

I used a retired SU set titled Garden Collage.  The dp is Lost & Found by My Minds Eye.   The embossing folder is SU's Square Lattice.  I had a totally different card in mind for today and then I saw a piece of this ribbon, that I picked up in Michael's $1 bin, sitting on a shelf and wanted to use it.
Whew it's scary how easily I can change my mind.

That will have to do it for me today.  tons of things going on and then there is the race also.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by.

SAS4Kids - Things With Wings

Good Saturday Afternoon and Happy St. Patrick's Day to those of you who celebrate.  I found a new (to me) cause and challenge blog that I think is just wonderful.  Send A Smile 4 Kids.  This week's challenge was "things with wings", butterfly, fairy, birds, etc.   This organization sends cards to hospitals for nurses to give to the younger patients ages newborn-19 years old.  These cards are given to the children to help bring a smile to their faces. They are not looking for "so sorry you're sick" type cards, they need happy cheerful type cards  to bring on the smile.   The other type of cards they have a need for are cards for the children in the hospitals to give to their parents for specific holidays, which I'm sure brings a great big smile to the parents as well as the children.  Won't you take a minute to check out their site? Maybe you too will find it a fabulous cause like I have. It's scary to be a patient and  I would imagine it's twice a bad when you are just a child and there is nothing better than to be able to bring a smile to a young patient's face   Here is the card I'm submitting for this week's challenge.
My image is from Beccy's Place  .  This was a free pre-colored digi I received a while back but now Beccy also has a new store where you can purchase her amazing images. I used a MS Border punch of both sides of a strip of card stock and the sentiment is from AMuse and punched out with the Modern Label punch from SU.  I cannot tell you who the designer paper is by as I just found it in my stash.  I'm sorry.   That will have to do it for me for today.  Thank you a whole bunch for stopping by to say hello.

HMFMC115

Happy Thursday Everyone
Today's card I did for the House Mouse Photo Inspiration Challenge found here.  As you can see the colors in the picture are brown, blue and pink.
WOW I'm hungry now.    Here is my card.

My lighting on this card is terrible, I apologize for that.  I colored my image with Copics.  I suppose that milk can should be grey, but I wanted a blue one - so there we have it.  LOL.  The papers are from a retired SU 6 x 6 pack.  The flowers are by Esprit and the flourish is by Cherry Lynn.  The little gems are by Studio 112 and I picked them up for only $1 at Joanns. Now that I look at it, I think I will add some Stickles to my flower centers.  It's just that I worked on this card last night after a very long day, so my creative mind was half asleep.   Well I wish you all a wonderful day and, I'll see you soon.

OWH's Mid Week Throw Down

Hi All, Operation Write Home's Mid Week Throw Down is to make a "miss you' card for our heroes to send back home.  This is what I was able to come up with.
This was an easy one for me, which I needed today as I was, somewhat, pressed for time.  Both the image and the sentiment are from the same Hero Arts set and I cut the image out with Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities.    I stamped and black embossed the sentiment directly onto my designer paper which is by DCWV .  I used a zig zag punch from EK Success and the corner punch is by SU.
That will have to do it for me for tonight.  Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow. Thanks a bunch for stopping by to say hello.

OWH Love Card

Good Monday Morning.  It's going to be a gorgeous day here and I can't wait to get outside to start some yard work.  No matter what occasion is upcoming, I still tend to make lots of "love" and "miss you" themed cards for our heroes to send home.  I just feel like they are the type of cards I'd want to receive if I were their family member.  There is nothing like knowing you are loved and missed.
So here is one of those "love" cards I made last night.
I decided that this one didn't need a sentiment and even if it did, I could never have decided when to put it, so no sentiment.  As you can see I wanted to do black and white with a splash of color.  IRL the hearts are a bit more maroon than red and it is textured card stock. They were punched out with SU's heart punch.  I made the pearls with my Viva Pearl Pen.  I dug out an old corner punch for a little added zing and I embossed the white panel with SU's square lattice folder.
It's a simple card with, hopefully, a BIG message.  I'm happy with the way it turned out.  Most of the time what is in my head and my final product do not match, but this time it did.
I wish you all a beautiful, sunny day. As always I want to take a minute to say thank you for spending some time here checking out my blog.   Bye for now - See you soon.

S & S Sketch #112

Happy Sunny Sunday, my card today is for the Operation Write Home's  S & S Sketch Challenge #112 found here.

I used two color card stocks that I had in my stash.  The two embossing folders I used were Swiss Dot and the Diamond Plate and I decided to change it up a bit by making two toned ovals. One sentiment was computer generated and the other is from SU's Teeny Tiny wishes.  I pierced around the edge of the panel to give it a little more life.

Thank you for taking a minute to stop by today.  See you again soon.

HMFMC114

I'm back with my House Mouse & Friends Challenge #114, Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice.

I chose the "Love Bunny" stamp and colored it with Copics.  I framed the image piece with Spellbinders Labels Nine Nestabilities then I cut another one from brown cs and, after cutting it in half horizontally, used it as a second or shadowing, if you will, frame. I made the sentiment using two different stamps from the SU's Fancy Flexible Phrases and punched that out with a MS Tag punch.  My papers are SU from probably 4 years ago.  It was one of the first packets of their designer series paper that I ever bought. I found these scraps in my stash and they seem to work out pretty good for what I wanted.  I layered some pink ribbon on top of white SU ribbon.  I  punched 4 Photo Corners from Chocolate Chip cs and placed them behind the corners of the pink panel.   Pink pearls on the corners and center of the bow were my finishing touches on this one.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  It's so nice to see company here.

OWH Sketch Challenge #111

I''m Back with this week's Sketch Challenge over at Operation Write Home.
As you can see I turned the sketch because I really wanted to use this sentiment.

I picked, what I thought were, nice bright colors to go along with the wording of the sentiment, which I picked up for $1.  That $1 has served me very well.  The stamp is from Studio G.  I really can't tell you who made the designer paper, all I know is that I love it.  I used the SU Square lattice embossing folder on the yellow panel.  Gotta run for now, but I'll be back this afternoon with more cards.  Got to catch up from being MIA for this past week.  Thanks for spending some of your time with me.  See you later one today.

ODBD Challenge

Good Morning All,  I think I have my picture problem solved.  I don't know if it is a temporary fix or not. Today's post is for the ODBD Challenge over at OWH.  For every 25 participants we get ODBD will sponsor the shipping for a box of cards going over to our heroes. This month we were asked to do a Tic Tac Toe pattern, so I picked Brads, Digi, Die Cuts.

TIC-TAC-TOE
Three in a Row
Brads

Piercing
Stripes

Digi stamp

Layers

Embossing

Die cut
Fun fold
Ribbon

I used a Bethany Digi Image from SNSS and colored her with Copics.  I cut it out with Oval Nestabilities.  The paper is from Basic Grey and I added pink and white brads in the corner which are kind of hard to see.  (looks better IRL).  The punched edges are by a MS punch and I scored the top and bottom of the card base.  I'll be back with other challenge cards later on today.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Cards Made But No Pictures

Well after being MIA for a week I decided to kick myself into gear this weekend and get going on some challenge cards.  I was up this morning at 5:00AM getting cards made and then I went to download them to my computer and they just don't want to be downloaded.  They won't go in directly and not even through my card reader.  So, hopefully, I'll solve this problem sometime today and will have cards to show you later on.   At this point, though, I am suffering from blogging withdrawal so I wanted to say Hi to everyone anyway.  Be back soon, I hope.
I wish everyone a fabulous Sunday.
