Stars & Stamps Mid Week Throw Down

Hello everyone, My card today is for our Mid Week Throw Down over at the Stars and Stamps Blog.  Our challenge this week was to make a card with monkeys as our theme.  I went to Squigglefly for a digital image of this adorable "Little Monkey" image.
After coloring him with Copics I cut him and matted him with SB Pinking Circle dies. I don't know why I keep saying "him" but I do think of monkeys as always being males.   The photo corners and the sentiment circles were made with SU punches.  My background paper was made using Alcohol Inks and I embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder that reminded me of Monkey's tails.
I have a great day planned today, my daughter is coming for a visit this morning then it will be off to lunch with one of my dear friends and then dinner with another dear friend, and finally home to spend the rest of the night with Hubby. All of this eating out is no good for my waistline but great for my heart and soul.    I wish you all a delightful day.  Thanks you so much for stopping by.  I love the company.

Just A Simple Card

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone.  I just made up a quick CAS card to post today.

My card base and the flower were both embossed with the SU Square Lattice folder. A SU 5 petal punch and a MS leaf punch make up the flower.  I added this lovely  pearl brad that I received from Pizzazz APlenty to finish it off.   My pink and yellow elements are punched out squares of papers with rounded corners on two sides (made with my Chomper) and then ran them through the crimper.  That has to do it for me today.  Another day on the run.  See you tomorrow.

Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #127

Well It' s Sunday so that means another challenge over at Operation Write Home.  Here is the sketch card
And here is my card.

I used all SU colors and a (new to me) Sizzix embossing folder.  The sentiment is by CC Rubber Stamps and the ribbon is from Joann's that I've had for years.  I edged the sentiment panel with a Krylon Gold Leaf Pen and added gold pearl gems from Pizzazz APlenty that I won last week.  I love them and will have to order some more very soon because I know I'll go through these in nothing flat.  It doesn't show too well, but there is also one on the center of the bow.  I hope you all enjoy your evening and I look forward to seeing you again soon.  Thank you so very much for stopping by.

S & S Mid Week Throw Down

Here I am back again, this time with the Mid Week Throw Down at Stars and Stamps Blog found here.  The challenge this week is a color challenge using Blue and Yellow..
I just did this card up in a few minutes because I'm am just about ready to call it a night.  I am CASing  Maureen over at Mama Mo Stamps using a method called Bordered Sentiment.  Her instructions are found here.  I picked up this cute "Seedburst" from Memory Boxthis week.  I was going to get fancy and stamp it using different colors, but I'll save that for another day.  Tonight I just stamped it several times using YoYo Yellow by SU.  Then I drew my "border lines"  and random "dots" with a blue Spica pen.   I added some little flowers and gems and chomped my corners and I was done.  I don't have any more creativity in me tonight.   I'll see you again tomorrow.  Hope you all have a wonderful evening.  Those of you who are my age (old) are probably ready for bed just like me and it's only 10:30PM.  I remember the days I could get by on just about 4-5 hours sleep, no more!!!! LOL.  Good night - Sleep Tight.  OH I just noticed that large shadow (not a smudge)  on the left hand side of the card.  Well, as I've often said, I'm not a photographer.

House Mouse Challenge #122

Hi All,
Well is was a scorcher today with temps hitting 96 degrees (heat index of 103) and tomorrow is suppose to be even hotter.  With this hot weather the challenge of Summer Refreshments over at House Mouse and Friends  seems quite appropriate.
I used an image titled Soda Fitz and colored it with Copics.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I used a MS punch on the bottom of my Basic Grey paper.  I hope you are all staying cool as you can and having a nice cool refreshing drink tonight.  Thanks to my followers for always stopping by and leaving such nice comments and "Here's To You".   LOL

Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #126

Good Sunday Morning All,  I hope it is nice where you are. It is a beautiful day here in Massachusetts.  Sunday = Operation Write Home's Sketch Challenge and we are on #126.
This is my entry for this challenge.

My focal image was made using a Gina K Designs stamp set I just got in this week.  The title of the set is "Stately Flowers 4".  Gina pointed out the other day that these flowers were nice enough to either color or stand on their own without color.  So I went with that option today.  I completely agree with Gina, as I like it very much without color.  The designer paper is a retired SU paper and the maroon papers are fro Gina K also.  The white panel is embossed with the SU square lattice folder and I added three silver gems for my final touch.  I would like to thank you for taking the time to pop in and say Hi today.  I appreciate it.  Have a glorious day, see you again soon.

The Best Thing About Me is You

Good Friday Morning.  It's a beautiful morning here.  It actually feels more like a fall day than a spring day, but I'll take it.  I'm hoping it stays cool so I can working outside in a comfortable temperature.  I thought I 'd share a card with you today that I made for my Hubby.
Last month when I went to California I had left several cards around the house for Hubby to find while I was gone.  This was one of his favorites, so I think I might make a few of these for my next OWH box.  I've done a few cards using this method in the past and they go together quickly, which is always a plus.  I just stamped my image from Gina K Designs "Love Note" set,  punched out my parts, adhered them to a piece of white card stock and embossed it with the SU Square Lattice folder then adhered that to a white card base.  I really like the white on white combination.  I think it is a good masculine card, especially with different colored hearts, because there is nothing frilly on it.
It was a hit in this house so I'm hoping it will be a hit in other houses.  Have a great day.  Heading outside for now.  See you later on.

Mid Week Throw Down

My post today is for the Stars and Stamp's Mid Week Throw Down, which is to use Things with Wings.
I tried doing an "Upholstered Background" technique that Gina K had on her site this morning.  I'm not crazy about the way mine came out but, hopefully, someone else will be happy with it. This technique calls for the use of designer paper instead of card stock.  I used a paper from Basic Grey which had an  ivory linen look to it.  The butterfly stamp is by Stamp Craft that I got years and years ago but it is still one of my favorites.  I stamped them with Versamark and clear embossed them.  I then sponged two different shades of blue all over the designer paper and rubbed the whole thing with a paper towel to remove any excess color from the butterflies.  The bird stamp is from Inkadinkado and the sentiment is a long ago retired SU stamp.  The Ric Rac is made with an EK punch and the pearls are by Recollections.  With butterflies and a bird I think my card fits the requirement for this challenge.  I hope you are all having a wonderful day.  We finally saw the sun here around noon time today and it is suppose to stay beautiful for the next 5-7 days.  YAY!!!!
Thanks for bunch for stopping by.  I truly appreciate your visits.  See you tomorrow.

HMFMC #121

Good Rainy Monday Afternoon to all of you.  Today over at House Mouse and Friends Challenge Blog we have a challenge titled "Here Comes The Sun".  I'm kind of glad the sun is not out here because I am getting a chance to stay indoors and make some cards.

For my card today I used one of the clear images in the House Mouse "Summer Drinks" pack. This little mouse looks to be totally enjoying his  ice cold "Lime-ade"under his umbrella at the beach.  I colored my image with Copics and cut it out with Nestabilities.  I used the Cuttlebug "Bubbles" embossing folder on the background paper and edged it with my Krylon Gold Leaf Pen.  The sentiment is also from that same House Mouse stamp pack.  A few gold brads were my final touches for this one.  Thanks a bunch for taking the time to stop by today. See you again soon.

S & S Sketch Challenge #124

It's Sunday which means a Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge found here.
Here is the card I came up with for this challenge.  I must have been feeling a little "girly" today.
My card base is embossed with the SU Square Lattice folder which is my favorite.  I colored the Rhubarb SNSS image with my Copic markers.  I also outlined the edges of the focal piece with a Copic marker, then pierced all around the edges and added some little gems.  The sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The designer paper is also from SU long since retired.  I used white SU ribbon and colored it with a Copic marker to match the edging.   I wish you all a wonderful day today.  It is beautiful today but the forecast calls for rain the entire upcoming week here in Southeastern Massachusetts hopefully that means more time in my craft room.    Thank you so much for stopping by today.
