HMFMC #141 - Easter

Good Friday Morning.  I have here a very CAS Easter card for the House Mouse Challenge found here.  My mind just would not think of anything creative last night or this morning, so CAS is what we have here.  I bought this image titled "Hoppy Dream" about two months ago but just got a chance to put some ink and Copic Marker to it yesterday.

There is not too much to say about this one.  There are multi-colored dots all over the image panel, not because they were planned, but because I somehow got a dot on there so I just kept going and added more to make it look like that was my original intent.  Can't blame a girl for trying.
If I don't get to visit you all for the weekend, I do wish all of you, that celebrate, a very Happy Easter. As always, I'd like to say thank you for your visit here today.  It is very much appreciated and always makes me smile.  See ya soon.

S & S Midweek Throwdown - Stripes

It's Wednesday which means Midweek Throwdown over at Stars & Stamps.  This week we were asked to make cards with stripes.  Here is my entry.
It's been a busy week so I went with quick and easy.  I found this striped paper in my stash and I have no idea who it's by, but I decided to just stamp a butterfly by  Inkadinkadoo and then I added a couple of colors with my Copics in a few areas of the wings.  My sentiment is by Hero Arts and I ran my trusty Gold Leaf Krylon pen around the edges.  The card was was embossed with the SU Fancy Fan folder and my final touch was to add four green gems on the corners.  That will have to do it for me today.  Thank you for stopping by for a visit.  Hope you all have a great evening.  I'm heading over to see all the other entries now.

S & S Sketch Challenge #165

Happy Sunday everyone, It has been a lazy day for me.  The only thing I've done today is a little bit of knitting and I made this card for the challenge over at Stars & Stamps found here.

I started with a background stamp ( I think it's titled Weathered) and stamped in onto my Very Vanilla card front.  Then I used the Leaf & Floral Hero Arts background stamp for my panel, both stamped with Certainly Celery from SU.  My sentiment is also from SU, retired.  I then colored my white ribbon with a Copic Marker to match the inks on the rest of the card.  The border punch is by MS.  This was a nice CAS sketch, which is my favorite and I'm kind of happy with the way this one turned out.   I wish you all a great day and, as always, I would like to thank you for stopping by.

Pattern Play Homework - Seize The Birthday

Hi All, I jumped on the bandwagon and joined the On Line Class "Pattern Play" which offers so much about working with patterned papers. I'm very happy that I joined in. I've never had so much fun doing "homework".  I'm doing these cards out of order so I believe these two are from day 2 which profiled Resist on Patterned Paper.    I have very few background stamps and none of them worked well for this technique, but I went with it anyway.
In this first card I used an older SU background stamp which, I think, is way  too busy for this technique, but I used it anyway. Surprisingly enough  I ended up happy with the result.

For my second attempt I used a regular, larger stamp (also retired from SU)  and stamped in several areas of my pattern paper. I was kind of pleased with the end result of this one also. I am going to enter this card into the Seize The Birthday challenge.

I ran out last night to buy the Hero Arts stamp that was used in the video because I loved the look of the cards using that stamp.  I'll try again later on today with my new stamp.  I swore I wasn't buying anything new for a while, but you all know how that goes.  I'm just an stamping addict and can't help myself.  Off to try to catch up with my homework for this class, so I'll be back later with more cards to share.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by.  See you again soon.

Mid Week Throw Down - Ombre

Good Wednesday Morning All. This week for our Mid Week Throw Down over at Stars and Stamps they would like us to make s card using the Ombre technique which is graduating colors from light to dark.   Here is what I came up with.

I just took a piece of white card stock and colored it with different shades of green with my Copic Markers.  Then I used a MS punch along both sides and added some flowers with a Hampton Arts foot long stamp which I then embossed with Detail White ep.   I added a few different colored gems for the flower centers.  The black panel is embossed with the Swiss Dot embossing folder and it is all mounted on Whisper White card stock from SU.  I made up a tag with a small sentiment but I did not like it so I decided to go with no sentiment at all on this one. I think it could be used for just about any occasion.   I wish you all a wonderful first day of spring.  It does not feel like spring here today.  It is only 32 degrees and we had a small snow shower last  night and may get more tomorrow, so for us it is still winter. I am off to run errands in my winter coat.    Thank you all so much for taking the time to stop by.  See you again soon.

HMFMC #140

Wow Wee - I'm back again today.  I'm here with an entry for the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #140   which is to make a card using ribbons and bows.  I didn't use my head when I started to make this card.  I went ahead and starting coloring and then picked out card stock but never thought of what I would use for designer paper.  I have enough paper to cover the earth I'm sure,  but only this one that had  colors that would (somewhat)  go with the card stock I used.
The image is a clear stamp from HM and it comes in a package titled "Love - Snuggle Up". The sentiment is from a retired SU set of which I can't think of the name of and somehow it got separated from the rest of the set.  The pearls are from Pizzazz Aplenty and the ribbon was SU's white grosgrain and I colored it with a SU marker to match the Taken With Teal card stock.  This will do it for me today.  Thanks for the company and I hope to be back soon.

S & S Sketch Challenge #164

Stars & Stamps Blog  has given us this sketch challenge this week.  I tried to change it up a little bit so here is what I came up with.  I'm not sure I like it but maybe it will grow on me.
I started with a Penny Black image and colored it with Copics.  I made some score marks on the top and bottom just because I felt like it needed something.  I used both oval and scalloped oval SB dies for my top and bottom pieces and added flowers made with a MS Hydrangea punch and pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty.  The background paper is from Christmas Tree Shop.   I am trying to work on another card this afternoon, so hopefully I'll be back later on tonight.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by.  Your visits are truly appreciated.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Seize The Birthday # 10

Wow I'm proud of myself.  I've gone from no posting to two in one day!!!!!   This is my first time entering a challenge over at Seize The Birthday. I have been following their challenges for a couple of weeks and it looks to be a fun challenge site, but this is the first chance I've had to join in.  Hoping to make it a weekly event for myself.  We can never have enough birthday cards.  This week they have a sketch for us to follow and asked us to make a masculine card.  Whenever I look at this stamp I think to myself "this is a good guy stamp".  Hope some guy thinks so also.

As usual my photo does not show colors exactly accurate.     The colors are Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler, both from SU.  The stamp is by Inkadinkadoo and I embossed it with Gilded Ivory from Powder Keg.  The sentient is from SU and cut out with a SU die.I also embossed the Cherry Cobler paper with the SU Stripes folder.  I used linen thread and just tied a knot for my embellishment.   I am pretty pleased with the way this one turned out. It will go in my next OWH box.   I thank you for stopping by again.  Your visits are very much appreciated.  See you again soon.

Mid Week Throw Down

This week  Stars and Stamps gave us a color challenge: blue, green and orange with a neutral.  I had a hard time getting started with this one, but here is what I finally came up with.  I haven't made cards in so long, that my mind is not yet back in the groove.
I took some patterned paper I had from a package I picked up at The Christmas Tree Shop over a year ago and then I stamped this oval stamp that is long since retired from SU in both Garden Green and Tempting Turquoise.  As you can see I added my little orange brad in the center of my flower.  I had planned on using Kraft as my neutral, but it just didn't look right so I went back to white to match the white part of the flower.  The retired SU sentiment is stamped onto a SB pennant die.  That will do it for me for now.  We are having a "Neighborhood Ladies Night Get Together" here at my house tomorrow night so I think those ladies might appreciate it if I cleaned a bit and cooked a little, so I'll try hard to stay out of my craft room today even though I want to stay in here and get back into the swing of things.
In the mean time I would like to thank you all for taking the time to pay me a little visit.  I always love hearing from you.  See you soon.

S & S Sketch Challenge #162

Well I finally found the time and energy to post a card.  I think it has been over a month since I last posted. I apologize to all of you because I've not been very good about commenting either.  I thought I was going to be able to say I was retired as of tomorrow, but something has come up and I will be working another week training someone.  Anyway, here is my entry for the S & S challenge this week found here  .

The flower stamp is an older one by Outlines and I colored it with SU markers.  I punch a small hole from Green Galore cs, attached it to the center of the flower and then covered with the Glossy Accents.  I went with my "go to" Hello stamp by Hero Arts and stamped it directly onto some patterned paper from Christmas Tree Shop and then black embossed it.  I scored the card base and I was done.  I guess from not making any cards in so long I've completely lost my mojo.  I'm hoping it returns next week once I get to spend more time in my craft room.    I wish you all a wonderful upcoming week and thanks a bunch for stopping by.  See you next week.
