Just Saying Hello

Well I managed to make a couple of cards today.  While I was cleaning my craft room a few weeks ago I found papers I didn't even remember buying (Isn't that a sign of a complete addict?)  and I thought they would make nice background papers for cards, so today I went to work on that.  I'm sorry to say I have no idea who these papers are by and I've probably had then 8 years or more. Here is my first card.
I made this flower from the Blossom and Word Window punches from SU, which I CASEd from my dear friend, Carol, when she made this gorgeous card.  I also added a MS punch and a Recollections Punch for the center.  The sentiment is by AMuse and cut with a SB Ribbon Tag die.  I could not quite match the ribbon to the blue in the paper, but it does look a little bit closer in color in person. It was a white ribbon I colored with a Copic marker.

I absolutely love this background paper on my second card
I made the pinwheel from old retired SU papers, but now that I look at this I think I'll make another one and make the base of the pinwheel in brown instead of the blue.  Not enough contrast for me.  This pinwheel seemed so big that I decided not to go with a sentiment on the front.  Two more cards for my next OWH box.  I've almost got my box full.  Well done for now, hopefully I'll get more made tomorrow.  See you soon and thanks a bunch for the visit.

A Hedgehog Hello

Hello and Happy Monday to all.  I had it in my mind that I wanted to color a Hedgehog this morning so I did.  This little Hedgie is from, a long since retired, SU set titled Hedgehog Happiness.  I just wanted to make a simple white on white card and this is what I ended up with.
It just always amazes me when I see something in my head and it actually turns out the way I pictured it.  That doesn't happen too often at all.  I just used a SB oval for my cut out area and then embossed the panel with a Swiss Dot folder.  I popped up the panel with SU dimensionals and I was done.  I wish you all a wonderful afternoon and evening.  Thank a bunch for stopping by for a visit.
See you again soon.

S & S Sketch Challenge #170

Sunday Morning means time for our S & S Sketch Challenge found here.  This one had me puzzled for a while, but I finally could vision something in my head, which doesn't always happen with me. So I went with it.

I dug out this Fiskar's stamp set that I got for a steal at JoAnn's last year and some markers along with some Tempting Turquoise card stock  and designer paper all from SU.  I colored the stamps with the markers before stamping them, then I added three gem stones that I found in my stash and the sentiment is by AMuse.  The embossed panel is by Sizzix.  Well that has to do it for me today as I need to get out in the yard then run some other errands today.  Hopefully I'll get back here tomorrow.    As always, I do appreciate you taking the time to stop by for a little visit. It's going to be nice here in Southeastern Ma. I hope it is where you are also.   Enjoy!

HMFMC #143

Good Sunday morning all.  My post today is for the House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #143  "All About Weather" found here.  I know, being this time of the year, I should have probably used a summer scene, but this image titled Along For The Ride is new to me so I was anxious to ink it up.

I colored it with Copic Markers and attempted to make some clouds using SU's Bashful Blue ink.  I added a little bit of Liquid Applique on the mousie's little hat and snow covered ground.  The background paper is one I made from stamping a bold stamp onto patterned paper, then embossing and sponging it.  A technique I picked up from the last On Line Class I took.  The sentiment is from Gina K and the snowflake punch is by MS adorned with SU's Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  I added the gold snowflake and brads for a little contrast.    Thank you so very much for stopping by.

ODBD Challenge

Things That Fly is our challenge over at the ODBD challenge at Stars and Stamps this month.  I decided to go with a this butterfly from Inkadinkado.  I colored it with a few bright colors.  I hope the brightness appeals to a hero and his/her family member.
I matted it with Yo Yo Yellow from SU and also add a couple of Photo Corner Punches also from SU (retired I think).  My room is such a mes that I can't find my catalog to check that fact out.  Sorry.
I need to get back to rearranging now, so I'll cut this post short.  I'm hoping you are all enjoying your Friday and good wishes also for a fabulous weekend.  Thanks so much for taking a peek.  See You for now.

Midweek Throwdown

My card today is for the Stars & Stamps Midweek Throwdown  found here.  It calls for us to use our favorite colors. I think, like many, my favorite combo is purple and green, but while I was moving things around my the craft room yesterday and found this pile of Washi paper and it reminded me that around Christmas time I love vanilla, red and gold so I ran with it.
My cards will all have to be quick ones because starting yesterday I decided to totally rearrange my craft room, so needless to say, it is a humongous mess. I'm lucky I can find anything at all.   In addition to that my husband just got off of a 7 day working stretch and I want to find time to spend with him.  My timing on this rearranging project was not so great.
This card is just embossed with the Swiss Dot embossing folder by Sizzix and I added the panel of Washi paper backed with Real Red card stock from SU.  I punched two sides of a cs strip with a MS punch and ended up with circles. They are not perfectly lined up, but I'm hoping it will pass inspection by one of our heroes (please pass, please, please, please).   I just noticed that the panel paper is not even, so I will realign it when I finish here on the computer.  I guess these things happen when you are rushed.  I'll try to work on and post a ODBD card soon. See you all soon and, as always, I appreciate your visit.

HMFMC #142 Springtime

Hi there, It's time for a new House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge found here. They are calling for "Springtime" and nothing says springtime around the Northeast like an April rain shower.   I just love this image titled Gentle Rain.  His little face, as he hides under the flower, just makes me smile.
I colored him with Copics and used Liquid Pearls on the rain drops to give them some sheen.  I wanted to keep it simple so I just stamped my sentiment from a retired SU set and cut it out with the Jewelry Tag punch by SU.  Since April showers bring May flowers, I added a little flower in the corner. The background paper was in my stash and I'm not sure who it is by.    Off to try to finish up a few more challenge cards.  Thanks a bunch for taking the time to stop by and say Hi.  See you again soon.

S & S Sketch Challenge #167

Good Sunday Afternoon to all of you out there in Blogland. Sunday equals Sketch Challenges over at Stars and Stamps  .  I went with a quick and easy one today.

I decided to make the sentiment the focal point on this one.  It is an old Hero Arts Stamp and is one of my "go to" stamps for special birthday cards. I don't think you can see it, but I ran some score lines down both sides of the sentiment.    The stitch flower stamp is from a retired SU set.  The punches are all by SU also.  The border punch is by MS.  Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry and Garden Green are the colors I went with here.  It is nice but very breezy here today so I was working outside for a while this morning, thus the reason for quick and easy, not too much energy or mental stamina left.  I thank you for stopping by for a visit and I wish you all a good evening.  I'm hoping to spend more time in the craft room this upcoming week.  See you all soon.
