Hosue Mouse Challenge #154 - Monochromatic

Happy Monday Morning All, I am here with my entry for the House Mouse Challenge found here.  Monochromatic is our theme this week.  I guess I was in a green mood, whatever that is.  Here is what I came up with.

My image was printed on light green parchment paper, which is a bit darker than it appears in the photograph, and I colored it with Prisma Pencils.  My mats are SU! Garden Green. I used a MS punch and snuck in a SU! sentiment. from Teeny Tiny Wishes.    The designer papers are also from a retired pack from SU!.    I think that is going to do it for me today.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by for a peek.  Have a fabulous day.

S & S #192

Here I am with a card for the S&S Sketch Challenge #192 found here.  It has been a while since I've been able to play along with this challenge but I found this sketch quite fun to work with.

I used a Hero Arts stamp set and SB dies make up this card.  I also used two Sizzix embossing folder.
The brown panel is embossed with stripes but you can't see the stripes in the picture.  I had a piece of patterned paper in my stash so that became my vertical panel. The brads and the sponging are SU!'s Bashful Blue.

I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday and wishing you a fabulous week ahead.  Thank you so much for taking the time to visit with me today.  See you again soon.

Cards for Hospitalized Kids

Well Halloween is sneaking up on us faster that we think.  I managed to sit myself down this morning and make up this card for  Cards for Hospitalized Kids. This is a new organization to me and I am so happy it was brought to my attention.  I, for one, think it is a  FABULOUS idea.  Fortunately none of my children or grand children has had to spend any time in the hospital  (Thank Goodness) but I can only imagine how excited these children must get when they receive a card from a complete stranger.  Anyway here is my first card for these precious children.
I used a House Mouse image and sentiment for this one.  I colored it with Copics and cut it out with SB pinked and regular circles.  I ran one of the circles through the Big Shot with a Swiss Dot embossing folder.  The paper was given to me years and years ago by a good friend, but I could not begin to tell you who made it. (sorry).  I am hoping to get a few more cards made today. I have been in a card making funk of late, but hearing about this organization has seem to brighten my spirits up quite a bit and  found my missing MoJo.     I wish you all a fabulous weekend and thank you for stopping by.  See you again soon.

CFC-115

Hello Everyone, It is a beautiful Friday and I need to get outside but I did want to play along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week before I went outside.  We were asked to make a card using Fall Colors & A Leaf this week.  We went camping in Vermont last week and I picked up a leaf that had already turned to fall colors.  It was gorgeous so I tried to copy it.  I can't say I was all that successful, but it was a good try on my part anyway.
Here is what I came up with.
The stamp is one that I love from Gina K Designs (Autumn Splender set).  I colored it with Copics and cut is out with SB Scalloped and Square dies.  The sentiment is a retired SU! stamp that I've had for years and is kind of a go-to stamp for me. My designer paper is by Basic Grey.   I dashed around the edges with a black multi-liner and ran it through a Swiss Dot embossing folder and I was done.  I had fun putting this one together.  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.  I love the company.  See you all again soon. Hope you are lucky enough to be enjoying a beautiful day also.

More Homework

Happy Friday All, I'm here again with another attempt at my marbleized background. I did a soft pink and blue and you can't see them but I added some light grey hand drawn circles and the final touch was some Copic Opaque White dots that I touched with with my finger to flatten them.
My image is one of my favorite dogwood's from Gina K Designs.  I colored that with my Copics and then added some Chunky Black Glitter from SU!.  The designer paper is from a retired pack SU! Four tiny white brads finished this one off.  Thanks for stopping in today.  I wish you all a fabulous weekend ahead.

Marbleized Background

Hi  blogger friends,  We just returned yesterday from a few days camping in Vermont.  It rained most of the time, but we made the best of it anyway.  Well best for my Hubby as he beat me in every single card game we played. Good thing neither of us is competitive.  After I lost many, many games we took a nice long right to get some Apple Cider Donuts - YUMMM!!!!   So I have been taking a Background Technique class from Marie over at Color Me Creative and I'm having fun with it.  I need a bit more practice, but I thought I's make a card out of one of my attempts.
I am having trouble letting the background shine, but as you all know by now, photography is not my thing.  Anyway in real life you can see the marbled effect.  So paired this up with some SU! green card stock and some retired d/p from SU! and came up with a card.  I added a little jewelry tag for the sentiment.     I'm off to try some more backgrounds.  I wish you all a super nice day.  We are having another hot, humid day here in Ma. but a storm and cold front are scheduled for this evening with a gorgeous weekend ahead.  Thanks so much for taking a peek.

CAS(E) this Sketch #44

I decided to try playing along with CAS(E) this sketch this week.  I really liked this sketch and had a couple of things rolling around in my little brain, but I decided to go with this one because I wanted to make a card for my Hubby and this one fit the bill.
My sentiment is by Gina K Designs and the small hearts were made using a SB Die titled Heart Circles while that large heart was made from a die by Sizzix,  I used my wavy cutter for the focal piece and I was done.  I thank you for stopping by and do wish all of you a great day.

HMFMC #152 Transport

Well here I am after a   L-O-N-G   time of not making cards or blogging.  I just took the summer off from most things computer related.  Did a lot of outdoor work and spent time with friends and family. As of last week I am the wife of a retired man,  YAY!!!!!!!!!!,   so we may just take off from time to time to who-knows-where, but disregarding our travel days, I am hoping to get back into some sort of a regimen with blogging.  Maybe just a couple of days a week for now, but at least I will be taking the time to make some cards and do some blogging.
So my first challenge is for House Mouse & Friends and this week we were challenged to make a card using some sort of transportation.  My little Amada mouse is  hitchin a ride on the back of this darling duck, which I think qualifies as transportation.

The image is titled Relaxing Ride and I colored it with Copics.  The mats are Night of Navy by SU! and the designer paper was in my scrap box, so I am sorry but I can't tell you who it is by. The sentiment is a retired SU! product.  My little burst type flowers were made with a punch I picked up at Michaels several years ago.  I added white mini brads to the centers and my final touch was to dash all around the dp.    I do hope you are all enjoying the weekend (long weekend in the US).  Thank you all so much for taking the time to stop by.  I always appreciate your visit.  See you soon!
