HMFMC #164 Anything Goes

We are having a new challenge up at House Mouse & Friends starting today.  Our Teamie, Dorte, has picked our theme this week and it is  Anything Goes  Here is my offering for this challenge.

My image titled "Buzzy Friends" and the sentiment are both by Stampabilities.  I colored the image with Copics and matted it with some paper from my stash.  The blue panel is by SU!  I kept it CAS to keep the attention on both the image and the sentiment and putting together a  CAS card this week just worked for me.   I used Wink Of Stella on the wings but I cannot get it to show up in the photograph.  The flowers were made up with a punch and flowers from my stash.  I just punched and dashed and I was done.   I do hope you will stop by House Mouse & Friends to see what my Team Mates have to offer for you this week and also play along and possibly win some very nice prizes.  We are  .   .   .

HMFMC Mid Week - Color Challenge

Well a whole week has just flown by and I'm back with a mid week reminder for you.  We are having a color challenge over at House Mouse & Friends.  I picked this challenge and picked Amethyst, White and one other color.  Here is what I came up with for this week.

I went with blue as my other color.  My little image is titled Baby Itty Bit and I colored it Copics and cut it out with a SB oval die. The border punch is by SU! and the embossing folder on my back panel is by Cuttlebug.  I used the negative from a MS punch for the hearts.  If you get a chance please stop by House Mouse & Friends to see the beautiful cards my team mates have come up with.  Then maybe you would like to take some of that inspiration and join in and possibly win some great prizes.  Can't wait to see your card.  Look at what you could win, but you can't win if you don't play!

OWH Sketch Challenge #212

Hi All,  I'm here today with my entry for the OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge.  I found this one to be a fun challenge except that I am never happy when I make banners on a card.  I love other people's banners, but not mine to I decided to go a different route for this one.  Here it is:

I found this piece of double sided paper in my stash so I went with it.  The strip is the reverse side of the top panel.  I just punched out four circles with my 1/2 inch circle punch, then added flowers from the MS hydrangea punch and the final touch was adding small rhinestones that I got at my LSS yard sale many years ago.  The sentiment is a die from Cuttlebug.  That will do it for me today, off to do a little housework, lot of cooking and TV watching.  It's just that kind of day around here today.    Thanks for taking the time to visit.  See you again soon.

HMFMC #163 Color Challenge

Good Monday Morning All.  Today we have a brand new challenge over at House Mouse & Friends and this week I have picked the theme.  I decided to go with a color challenge using Amethyst (February's birthstone), white and one other color.  I'd like to share my card with you.
I used this completely adorable image titled "Nose To Nose In Flowers".  I colored it up with my Copics then cut it out with a SB die.  I pierced just the top and bottom of the die cut piece and then matted it all onto green and purple card stock.  The sentiment is made with a Cuttlebug die and the background paper was in my stash.  The gems were also in my stash for maybe 6 or 7 years now.  'Bout time I pulled them out and used them, don't you think?  I hope I have enticed you enough to hop over to House Mouse and Friends to see all the fantastic cards my Teamies made.  We would really be thrilled if you join in on the fun. We also have some terrific prizes that you might win from our

S & S Sketch Challenge #211

Here I am with my card for the Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge.  I just need a few more cards to go in my next box so I decided to make a couple of Mother's Day Cards.  I made one of them using today's sketch.

My strip is bit wider then was called for on the sketch but I really wanted to use this poem so I made adjustments, which I do on a regular basis.  The paper is from my stash (I'm getting good at using that up) and the poem and sentiment are by Hero Arts.  The pink card stock is Parchment Pink.  I've had that for years also.  The ribbon is by SU! and the embossing folder is by Cuttlebug.  I hope you are all having a nice relaxing Sunday and Thank you for taking a peek here today.

First Peek Of Spring

With all the snowy and extremely cold days we've had of late I was so excited to see that Deedee Anderson had released her Spring Line of images found here.   There are several different sets and each one of them is just delightful.  If you have a minute you should pop over there right now, especially if you live in the areas of the country that have been experiencing a very long, hard hit winter.  These sets will definitely help you get rid of your Winter Slump.     The first set I've made use of is titled First Peek Of Spring.

Doesn't this little bunny peeking out of this basket of flowers just remind you that spring is getting a little bit closer?  I know it makes me feel like it is right around the corner now. I don't know who the background paper is by.  It was in my stash.   Most, if not all, of Deedee's images come both pre-colored and line drawing so you can color it yourself.    I went with the time-saving pre-colored image.  I added a  yellow gem to the center of just one of the flowers.  The sentiment is also from this set and I just added three tiny gems after sponging around the die cut piece.  The three punched flowers are made with the MS hydrangea punch and I added three pearls in the centers of those flowers.  The pink strip was embossed with a Sizzix folder.  That will do it for me today.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by and I'll see you again real soon.

W2SB #2 - The Colours of the World

Hi I'm here today with my card for the second challenge over at W2SB .  Bobbi and Sybrina are two very sweet ladies that have started this challenge site so in the event you missed it last month, I'd like to suggest you hop on over there and join in on the fun and show these girls some love and support.     This month they are asking us to make something Olympics related.  I struggled with this one at first, but then decided to just make a  card that incorporated the colors of the Olympic rings.   It's not my favorite card, but here it is because my MoJo must have gone to Sochi for the games and left me sitting here without a creative thought in my head.  LOL

I started out making circles to represent the Olympic rings and had hearts inside each ring, but then I switched from rings to hearts.  I used all SU! card stock and my sentiment is by Studio G. The embossing folder is Fancy Fan which is also by SU!   Hopefully my Mojo will return quickly from Sochi to help me come up with another card for this challenge.  I'd like to wish you all a great day and thank you for taking the time to stop by.  See you again soon.

Deedee 's February Digi of the Month Challenge

Well we are into a new month and that means it's time for a new challenge over at Deedee Anderson's site.  This set is just as precious as can be.  I adore this little turtle with his balloon and he comes with a great array of sentiments.  Here is what I came up with for this set.
I used the pre-colored version, but it also comes in a line drawing so you can color it yourself. I cut the image out with a SB die and  I traced around the inside of the die with a black pen.  I added little banners using colors that were close to colors on the turtle's shell.  I made a bigger banner to house the adorable sentiment that I just printed  and punched out with SU! punches.  The paper is retired SU!  I used the Swiss dot embossing folder on all the banners and added some gold stickers by Dazzles.

If you played in Deedee's January's challenge you will receive this darling set free and if not you can purchase it at a very reasonable price or get it free by just ordering $10 worth of images from Deedee.  When you play this month you will receive next month's set free and you will have until March 2nd to enter so that gives you plenty of time to decide how you are going to use this set.  He could be used for birthday, everyday, just saying Hello, so many choices.  I can't wait to see your cards.  Thanks for your visit and I wish you a great day.

HMFMC MidWeek #162

Welcome to our Mid Week reminder for our challenge #162 which is "Anything related to Love" which, in my eyes is always a great theme.  Won't you please stop by House Mouse & Friends and play along with us.  Check out all the wonderful inspiration that my Team Mates have to offer this week to get your MoJo jumping.
I used a sheet of paper by the Devoted pad from Carta Bella.  I adore this paper.   My image is titled "Signing A Card".  I stamped "Love You" and "xoxo", both of which are by SU!,  right onto the little note this precious mousey is writing to someone he loves. I cut it out with a couple of SB dies and sponged some pink around the image while it was still in the die.  The flourish, flower and hearts were all in my "got to use soon" basket.  I do have little baskets with different names to them.  Please tell me I'm not the only one who names her baskets/boxes.  I just added one red gem and two pearls in the the corners and called it a day for this card.  This one is going to my granddaughter for Valentines Day.
Thanks for paying me a visit here today, but don't forget to hop on over to House Mouse & Friends now and join in on the fun and maybe win one of several great prizes.    We'd really love to see your cards or other craft items.

S & S Sketch #210

I came on to the Stars & Stamps site this morning only to see that one of my past cards was being featured for today's Sketch challenge.  Thank You Marlene, I am very honored.  Here is my card for this sketch

It seems like today is my day for one rounded corner on a card.  My ODBD card I posted earlier today also had one rounded corner.  Anyway, I used all scrap papers I had in my stash for this one.  If I remember correctly this card base is an older piece of SU! designer paper.  The card stock is also retired from SU! I decided to use a vertical sentiment by Gina K Designs and embossed it in black. The two little hearts on this piece are negatives from a MS punch.    The horizontal panel is embossed with a Darcy Hearts folder.  That's about it from me today.  Thanks you once again for your visit.  Hope to see you again soon.  Enjoy your day.

ODBD February Challenge

Being as how this is the first Sunday of the month, that means that ODBD   is sponsoring it's monthly challenge over at OWH.  This month they have requested cards with "Brown" on them.  Here is my entry.
I went with a totally CAS card for this one.  I used SU! Sage Shadow ( I'm pretty sure it's discontinued now) and Chocolate Chip.  I embossed the brown panel with a striped folder and added three silver Jolee dots.  The sentiment is by CC Rubber Stamp Company and I cut the sentiment out with SB dies.  I rounded one corner and I was done.  I know my Hubby likes plain and simple cards himself, so I'm hoping most other guys do also.  I wish you all a great day and an exciting game tonight if you watch it.  Thanks so much for popping in today.  I'm hoping to get back with this week's Sketch Challenge later on.

OWH 2014 Card Bowl

OWH is hosting a 3-day Card Bowl for Superbowl Weekend.   For this year's Superbowl I am a Denver Bronco's fan so here is my card using their team colors.
As you can see I went a little crazy with embossing using three different folders.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts and I cut it out with my SU! hexagon punch and matted it with a SB circle die. The smaller hexagons were made with another die that does not have a name on it.  The only thing I can tell you is that I picked it up at Michaels.  Sorry.  The colors are Pacific Point Blue and Pumpkin Pie both from SU!.  I added three silver candy dots just because.  That will do it for me this afternoon.    I'm going to try to work on the other two projects for the card bowl tomorrow.    Whoever you are for in this game, I am wishing you luck, if you even watch it at all.  We are watching to have a good excuse to eat some good (bad for you) munchies.  See you soon and as always thanks a bunch for visiting.  I love the company.
