OWH 2014 Card Bowl

OWH is hosting a 3-day Card Bowl for Superbowl Weekend.   For this year's Superbowl I am a Denver Bronco's fan so here is my card using their team colors.
As you can see I went a little crazy with embossing using three different folders.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts and I cut it out with my SU! hexagon punch and matted it with a SB circle die. The smaller hexagons were made with another die that does not have a name on it.  The only thing I can tell you is that I picked it up at Michaels.  Sorry.  The colors are Pacific Point Blue and Pumpkin Pie both from SU!.  I added three silver candy dots just because.  That will do it for me this afternoon.    I'm going to try to work on the other two projects for the card bowl tomorrow.    Whoever you are for in this game, I am wishing you luck, if you even watch it at all.  We are watching to have a good excuse to eat some good (bad for you) munchies.  See you soon and as always thanks a bunch for visiting.  I love the company.

  3. Donna - I really like the bold colors and the textures on your card. It is a great way to incorporate the team colors but not be sports related. I am enjoying the trendy hexagons lately. Your card is sure to bring lots of 'cheer' (LOL) to the recipient.

  7. I'm loving all those embossed hexagons that really add interest. I also like the way you matted the sentiment hex on a circle! I never thought of doing that, but I love the look! Nice card to show support for your team :)
Like you, we'll be having snacks all day - I'm not cooking a big meal! We'll holler, yell and enjoy the game and let out our frustrations at the same time :) Enjoy!

  8. Hi Donna-- Great card- the strip across with the dots really adds a nice touch-I am loving the way you used the hexagons!!! I love all of your embossing-- when I see your cards- I love the look and tell myself to use more embossing- then I sit to create and rarely do it...MUST emboss more! LOL I do enjoy watching P Manning- he is a talented athlete. I have also lived in Ma my whole life- so I think we all have something in our blood when it comes to our sports teams-- just like families- we can knock then- but nobody else better say anything bad! LOL
Enjoy your treats today- I heard it is the 2nd largest food consumption day of the year- after Thanksgiving! I appreciate your kind comments and wish for my week to get better. I had a wonderful day yesterday- spent time with friends and family at a Christian psychic/medium. It was my Dad's birthday and of course he came thru singing Happy Birthday.
(for him and one of his granddaughters who shared his birthday) I know it is weird- but I get such comfort from that kind of connection to know he is still happy! OK- now you think I am a wackadoodle-- lol lol lol but it was just what I needed after a couple of rough weeks! LOL Bring on the sunshine and warmth in tiny Massachusetts today! Hey- I am already thinking about the stamp show and CKU coming to our area later this year...starting to put some $ aside so I can have a big splurge! You should try to get to the stamp show- it is a lot of fun! Have a great week and thanks for always taking the time to leave me a comment!!!

  11. Great design, and such bright fun colors. We know by now that it didn't work out for your team, but hey someone wins someone loses, but so much more fun to win....maybe next year.
