OWH - MWT

Over at Operation Write Home they are asking for some Masculine-Thinking Of You cards as our Mid Week Throw Down Challenge.  Here is my entry.

This was an easy challenge for me because I had a rather large pile of paper given to me as a gift (Thank You America) and in going through it I saw this piece of paper and it jumped out at me as good paper for a masculine card.  I just paired it up with some retired Brave Burgandy and Crumb Cake card stock by SU! I embossed the bottom strip with a Cuttlebug folder, used a sentiment by SU! and punched it out with two SU! punches.  I added a few gold stickers and I was done.  I think I may make a few more like this one using different masculine type papers.  Gotta run- lots to do today, to bad it is raining up a storm here.    Thanks for popping in for a peek.  See you again soon.

Not A Tie

Here I am with a card for Deedee's Digi of the Month Challenge for May.  Our set this month is called Not A Tie and it is perfect for making all sorts of guy cards.  Here is my card.
I had a ball working with this darling set.  I kind of deconstructed the Dad banner and used it in a different way than Deedee originally made it, but I think it worked out very good.  I could not help but to add some hearts along my twine because they seems to work so well with the heart on the bag, to which I added some Glossy Accents to.  Being as how this was a pre-colored set it helped me put this one together quite quickly.  If you get a minute, please head on over to Deedee's and check out the inspiration from some of the other DT members, including  a card form Deedee, herself.   It will get you MoJo going for sure.  Here is the set offered for this month.

If you played along last month you should have received you free copy of this darling set and we will be waiting to see your card or project using it.  If you did not play last month and you'd like to join in for our progressive challenge month, you can buy this set at a reduced price for a limited amount of time and then you will receive next's month set free.  Great Deal !  Come play along with us.  Let's see your Dad cards.
Thanks for stopping by and I'd like to wish you a fun, creative day.  See you again soon.

HMFMC Mid Week Reminder

Challenge #168 Over at House Mouse & Friends is to Pop It Up  (at least one item on your card has to be popped up).  Fun and Easy.  I decided it was time for some warm weather images to be inked up and colored, so here is my card for this week.
It is very hard to see, but the image panel is popped up and the umbrella was stamped twice, colored twice, fussy cut and popped up as well.  The image and sentiment are both from the Summer Drinks pack and it was colored with Copics.  I used a Scalloped Die by X-Cut to cut the image out.    My black mats and green panel are all card stock from SU! and the paper is from my stash.  The green panel was embossed with a Cuttlebug bubble folder.  I make a bow out of some twine and added a silver candy dot by Jolie to finish it off.  I am hoping to be able to sit out on a beach and enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon with a drink someday very soon.  We'd love to see what you can think of to Pop Up on your cards this week.  We have some great prizes to offer so please play along and join in on the fun.

OWH - Sketch #222

I am totally honored that Marlene picked one of my cards to showcase today for our sketch challenge this week over at OWH.  I have to admit, though, that this is not one of the best cards I ever came up with. This layout falls under the category of "Where was my head"?  Anyway I tried to improve on in this week.  Here is what I came up with.  Hopefully some hero will not mind it too much.

I found a large sheet of this paper in my stash with that became my starting point.  I just use accompanying colors of SU! card stock and punch out some circles.  After placing them on the Apricot Appeal card stock I embossed it all with SU!'s  Square Lattice embossing folder.  After adding my designer paper I decided to punch out a five petal flower ( to match the flower on the designer paper) and a circle for the sentiment and  I used the swiss dot embossing for those two pieces, just to change things up a little.  I backed everything up with black card stock.  A few black Jolie gems and I was finished.  I am wishing you all a nice Sunday and a fun crafting day.  Thanks for stopping by today.  See you again soon.

Hello Cards

Happy Saturday Afternoon all.  I have been busily working on some Cards For Hospitalized Kids today and I thought I'd share a couple of them with you.  I have used Deedee Anderson's Teddy Frame  which made these very easy to put together.  I just quickly colored up the teddy with Copics,  cut it out and picked some appropriate papers for both boys and girls and I was done.  I've made of few of each to go in my next box.

As usual my photographing skills leave a bit to be desired.  These pictures are not very sharp so I apologize for that.   I am thinking these hospitalized kids will get a kick out of this little Teddy just saying "Hello" to them. That will do it for me today.  Thanks for taking a minute out of your day to spend here with me.  See you again soon.

MWT - Color Challenge

It's Wednesday so that means a Mid Week Throw Down over at OWH.  This week they are asking for BROWN cards and a masculine theme.  I don't know if some will consider this a masculine type card, but I do know my hubby likes strawberries and he is very sweet so I'm thinking some hero will have someone like that in their life to send this card home to.  One can only hope.
This image was one I got free from Becky's Place quite a while ago.  I love coloring it and I did so with my Copics.   I picked kind of a masculine type paper and I like the way it looks with this image.  I added two silver candi dots and I was done.   Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.
Have a fun evening.

Ladybug Hugs

I just love ladybugs so when Deedee came up with this "Ladybug Hugs" set I just had to have it and start playing with it.   I kept it simple but did so something a little different for me.
What I did different was to print out the image and sentiment (both from the same set) directly onto patterned paper.  My printer is running low on some of the inks, so I did go over the lady bug with Copic Markers just to brighten it up a little.   The paper was in my stash so I'm unable to tell you who made it, sorry.  It is hard to see in the picture but I ran the red strip though the Big Shot with a Swiss Dot embossing folder and the punched edges on the black strip were made using a SU! border punch.  I think this card works well for either OWH or Cards For Hospitalized Kids and it went together so quickly that I will be making a bunch more of these.  Thanks so much for taking a peek here today, but it might serve you well to also take a peek over at Deedee's to  see some of the other newest sets she has available.  You won't be disappointed I promise.

See you again soon.  Wishing you a ladybug kind of day.

OWH- MWT

Very quick post today.  We are just about running out the door for a busy day but I could not pass up making a Disney card being the biggest Micky Mouse fan among the senior citizens.  LOL
Here is my card for today for the Operation Write Home's Mid Week Challenge.

I was in such a hurry this morning that I forgot it was to be a Birthday card, so I will put a birthday sentiment on the inside of the card.   The paper is some I picked up the last time I was at Disney World.  The print is big but I did manage to cut it so you could see some of Mickey's ears.  Have a nice day and thanks for popping over today.  See you soon.

HMFMC Mid Week Reminder

Another week got by me somehow and I didn't even see it pass.  Welcome to our MidWeek Reminder over at House Mouse & Friends Challenge #167 which is Flowers & Flourishes.  This theme was picked by our very own talented teamie, Kelly.  Here is what I came up with this week.

This darling image is titled "Nose To Nose In Flowers" so I thought it quite appropriate for this challenge.  This is one of my favorite stamps to use for an anniversary card.  I colored it with Copics, cut it out with my wavy cutter.  Then I added a flourish and some Esprit flowers that I've had for quite some time.  This one went together rather quickly for me.  We'd  love to have you play along with us this week and we have some great prizes to give away, so please take a stroll over to House Mouse & Friends to grab some wonderful inspiration from my teamies and maybe win something in the mean time.

OWH Challenge #220

Good Sunday Morning.  Hope your weekend is going well so far.  We are having a cloudy day with possible rain showers later on today, so a good craft day ahead.  Over at OWH they are having their Sunday Sketch Challenge and here is my card for this challenge.
I did not follow the sketch perfectly, but I think it will do.  I found this piece of paper in my stash and thought it would be just right for this sketch.  Then I stamped my Hero Arts sentiment right on to the patterned paper.  I embossed the bottom half of the card with a Tim Holtz Bricked Wall folder.  I used some SU! Chocolate Chip strips (different widths as you can see)  and three gold gems from Pizzazz APlenty   and my card was complete.  Thank you for taking a peek here in my little corner of the world today.  Hope to see you again soon.  Enjoy your day.

Outlawz - Sketch Challenge

I was scheduled to work today, but it got cancelled so with time on my hands I was able to enter a challenge over at The Outlawz.  The Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  This week their sponsor is Deedee's Digi Images and I have tons of images by Deedee so this was a no-brainer for me.

Here is our sketch.

I thought this image went good with the SB Labels die I wanted to use.  Quite often I use Deedee's pre-colored images, but today I decided to color myself, so I went with the outline image and colored it with  Copics and then sponged the inside of the die with SU! Certainly Celery ink.  .   The papers are from The Christmas Tree Shop and the ribbon is from SU!.  I added four smaller flowers from the MS Hydrangea punch and finished them off with some rhinestones I've have for years.  I decided not to put a sentiment on the front so I will add one to the inside at a later date.   That will do it for me today, but I wanted to say thank you for stopping by.  See you again soon.

MHFMC #167 Flowers & Flourishes

Good Monday Morning folks.  I am here with my card for House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge.  Our Host Designer this week is Kelly and she has picked our theme which is to make a card or a project that includes Flowers & Flourishes.  Here is what I came up with.
This stamp, by Stampabilities,  is titled  "Gentle Rain".  I colored it with Copics and added some Ice White Pearl Pen for the rain drops and drizzles.  I then mounted it on a SB A2 Polka Dots die and then matted that with some Garden Green SU! card stock. The background paper is from a Sweet Sorbet pack from SU!.  I used a Cherry Lynn Flourish die in SU'! Old Olive and punched some flowers with a MS Hydrangea punch.  I also added some Pearl Pen dots into the center of the flowers.  The inside of the card, reads May Happiness Rain Down on You   which is also by Stampabilities.    I do hope you join us this week as I'm in the mood to visit as lot of blogs.  We have four great prizes for you this week, which I am hoping will also entice you to play along.

OWH Sketch Challenge #219

Sunday = Operation Write Home's Sketch Challenge found here.    The sponsor for this week's challenge is Doodle Pantry so I dug out one of my favorite Doodle Pantry images and went with that.

In fact the pre-colored image, striped paper and sentiment are all from Doddle Pantry.  The card stock is by SU! and my final touch was the gold stickers.  As you can see I did change things up a bit, as usual, but the only place I liked the sentiment was in the upper left hand corner so I had to move the stickers to the bottom.  I think this card could be used for a hero to send home to his/her child and it could also be used as one of my Any Hero card, so I haven't decided how I will use it yet.  Thanks for stopping by.  See you soon.

Music Box

I thought I would post this card that I did the other day.  This is from Elisabeth Bell's Digi Collection.  I colored her with Copics and cut her out with SB dies.  I used Bravo Burgandy (Retired SU!)  and designer paper from Die Cuts with a View,  Mat Stack.
If you are wondering why I have several stickers around this image.  That is because I managed to get two different smudges on the image piece once I was all done coloring it.  So I added some gold ribbon and four more little stickers in the corners to try to bring things together.  Well I'm off to bed now.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Words 2 Scrap By #4

I have been anxiously waiting for this new challenge over at Words 2 Scrap By.  Bobbi and Sybrina have come up with another fun challenge.  April's birthstone is the diamond and Rhianna has a song titled "Shine Bright Like A diamond In The Sky".  Two very good reasons for this challenge.
Here is my entry
I had so many ways I wanted to go with this one, but I just found this very small piece of beautiful paper (feels more like a fabric) with the silver stars and dots and  "sky" immediately came into my mind.  This card was then born.  The designer paper is from a very old pack I've had for about 5 years now.  I really don't know how this happens, but the cover is missing off of this pack so I don't know who it is by.  Some little elf must come into this room at night and take all the covers off my packs.   That's my story and I'm sticking to it.  LOL The card stock is Bravo Burgandy by SU!.  It's retired but I managed to hoard a sheet or two of it.  So glad I did that.   Anyway I laid out all the papers and then decided to go with this SU! sentiment because of diamonds and love.  I then ran a SU! Marker  around the outside edge of the focal piece.  Three gem stones under the sentiment and I was done with this one.  Once I saw this picture I noticed that the gems don't look even, so I will have to fix that before it goes out the door.  I had fun making this card and I'm happy with the way it turned out.  That will have to do it for me tonight.  Thanks so much for stopping by and please don't forget to hop on over to W2SB, join in on the fun and show these two sweet girls some love and support.  See you soon.

MWT - Father's Day

Over at Operation Write Home they are having their Mid Week Throw Down today.  They have asked for Father's Day cards.  I went with just a generic Dad card as I'm not sure I will get a box done in time for the Father's Day deadline and they can use Dad cards all year long.
I used a pre-colored image by Fred She Said and just matted it a few times with SU! card stock and designer paper.  The small sentiment is also from SU! This one went together very quickly for me so I think I will be making several more of these.  This image is offered in different colors, each one as nice as the other.  It also comes as a line drawing so you can color it yourself.   Have yourself a great day and thanks for your visit.  See you again soon.

Deedee's April DOM Challenge

Well it is April 1st which means another challenge over at Deedee's Digi of the Month.  If you played along in the March challenge you've already received the darling set for this month, free! (good deal, huh?).    It's titled "Under You Wing".  If you did not get a chance to play last month you can purchase this set for a very small amount throughout the month of April.  As you can see the set comes with both a lined drawing or pre-colored image as well as 5 great sentiments.
So here is my card for this month.
I just printed the pre-colored version out and cut it out with a SB postage Stamp die and matted that with black card stock.  Both of my background papers are from retired SU! sets.  The sentiment from this set is punched out with SU! punches.  I just had to add three gems and this one is ready to go in the mail.  I love using these colored images when I am in need of getting some cards out the door.
We would love to see what you come up with for this month's challenge, so I'm asking that you hop on over to Deedee's  and join in.
Thank you for taking the time to visit with me and I'm looking forward to visiting you also.  Have a great night.
