Just A Card

Hi All, Hope you are all doing well on this chilly Friday.  I'll take chilly without any complaints.  I feel so bad for the people in the Upstate NY area.  I'm keeping them in my thoughts and prayers.    Our youngest daughter, Alli, is coming home tomorrow for the Holiday week and I wanted to make her a  "Welcome Home" card.  This card comes along with a cute little story, or at least I think it is cute.
I was going through  images over at Sherri Baldy's store and came across this one and I just had to have it.  When our two youngest girls were very young someone took a picture of them and in that picture both of them had knee socks on each one of them had one sock up and one sock all scrunched down.  So when I saw this this image with the "one sock down" I just had to have it.  Alli also had a hat on in the picture that was probably her great-grandmothers'.  No where cute as this hat, but a hat all the same.

I got to coloring it up with my Copics right away.  I tried to use similar colors to what the girls had on in their picture. I had so many different colors going on here that I really had a hard time figuring out what color to use as the background, but I think it came out all right with the green.    I decided not to put a sentiment on the front of the card as I thought it would look too busy.    So here is my card for the day along with my story.
Thanks so much for paying me a visit and I am hoping you all have a fun weekend.

W2SB - Gratitude & Kindness

I'm here with a card I finally got around to making for the W2SB challenge which, this month, is Gratitude and Kindness.  I had this image colored for eons so I pulled it out and then had the bright idea to do a background for it.  My image was done on watercolor paper so I decided to use some Sparkling H2O-S for the background as well as a Sharpie White Pen and a Copic Marker.   I'm not happy with how it came out, but I'm going to have to live with it because the end of the month is coming fast and I really wanted to be able to enter a card into this challenge.  I love to play along with W2SB but was not able to for the last 4 months, so I desperately wanted to start again this month.

I already stopped by W2SB and saw all the entries and the DT's card and they are all fabulous, so why don't you take a minute to stop over there and hopefully you'll join in on the fun.

I think this is a retired SU! image, but to tell you the truth I don't know for sure.  The papers and card stock are by SU! and the sentiment is by Gina K Designs.  The small flower was made with a MS punch and I added a pearl drop for the center.  As you can see I rounded the corners on the top just for a different look.

I'm wishing you all a great day today and want to thank you for taking the time to visit.

OWH Mid Month ThrowDown

Hi I'm here today with a card I made for OWH's Mid Month Throwdown which was to make a winter Love card.  Love cards are my favorite to make to I hopped right on this one.

My image is from SNSS and is colored with Copics.  The background paper is from a winter pack from DCWV and the Card Stock is Night Of Navy by SU!.  The little blue heart is from the SU! Owl Punch and the two red hearts are negatives from a MS Heart Border Punch.  I added some Glossy Accents to his little nose and the hearts.  The Sentiment is from the Gina K Designs "Love Notes" set.  It's one of my go to sets for love cards. My final touch was Chunky White Fran-tage.  We may get a dusting of snow within the next day or so and we are also in for some very cold weather.  I was going to wish you all a nice warm day where ever you are, but I don't think there is much chance of that seeing as how most of the 48 states have temps. below normal this week.  I guess winter is really here.
Thank you for popping in.

Snowman Soup

I am back with another card I made up today using Deedee Anderson's "Snowman Soup".    Deedee is generously offering this set free until this Friday, November 21st.  This is a precious little set and it's FREE so it just doesn't get any better than that.
(Please don't mind my picture- my camera's battery died in the middle of taking pictures and I wanted to post this one tonight, so we are stuck with a crooked looking card )

As usual with Deedee's sets they come pre-colored or line drawing so you can color yourself.  I decided to do my own coloring with my Copics today.  My paper and card stock are both retired from SU! and I cut the image out with SB circle and scallop circle dies, sponging around the circle die.  I also added some Fran-tage for snow.  The sentiment, which comes with this set, was cut with my wavy cutter.  The corner treatments was done with a retired SU! corner punch.  Four gems were my finishing touch on this one.  We MAY get a little more of the white stuff Monday night into Tuesday morning so this seemed like the perfect card to make today.  I wish you all a great evening and I hope to see you all again soon.  Thanks for stopping by, I always enjoy the company and comments.

Happy Thanksgiving

Well here I am after a couple of months.  I was very sick with several different health issues, one right after the other, but I am back among the living now, Thank Goodness.  I am very glad to be able to start crafting again and I wanted to make a card with this beautiful image by DeeDee. This image and sentiment are both from the Bounteous Blessing set found here.   I just love this image and I was so happy that I finally felt like coloring so I used the line drawing, but it does come pre-colored if you'd prefer.  There are also some wonderful other sentiments included in this set also.  I think it would be worth it for you to hop on Deedee's shop over to take a look.

I colored this one with my Copics and then cut it out with SB square die after running my trusty Gold Pen around the inside edge of the die.  I cut the ends of the sentiment pieces and added a couple of cute little stickers.  The papers are retired SU!.  That's about it - I had a lot of fun coloring and it went together very quickly, so now I'm off to try some more coloring.  YAY!!!!!  I'm wishing you all a great weekend.  It is quite cold around here today and is expected to stay that way for the next week so I'll be staying inside and that just means more craft time.
