A Get Well Card (Of Sorts)

Happy Saturday Evening everyone.  I'd like to share a card I made for a friend that fell and badly broke her leg and messed up her knee also.  She will be side lined for three months.  I thought this was the most appropriate image and sentiment by Deedee Anderson for her and after making sure my friend was in good enough spirits to accept this kind of humor I went to work making the card.
I used the pre-colored image and just stenciled some stars with a SU! mask because I'm sure she was seeing stars after her fall.  Then I decided to make a dotted background with Copics, and a Sharpie White pen.  The sentiment came with this cute set and the paper was from that old scrap book calendar I saved from 2007.  I put this in the mail this morning and I think she should receive it by Tuesday and I do hope she will still be in good spirits after her surgery which will be on Monday.  I plan on making her some serious cards also, but I was hoping to get a laugh out of her for the time being.  Thanks a bunch for stopping in and I wish you all a great Sunday.  If you will be watching the Super Bowl I hope the team you are in favor of wins and if you will not be watching the game, I wish you  a good crafting or relaxing day.  I will be eating Super Bowl foods all day and will watch the commercials if nothing else.   See you again soon.

Thanks

Operation Write Home's  January Mid Month Throw Down is to make a thank you card.  I dug out some older, much loved items to make this one.
I used some Lasting Impressions paper that I bought probably about 7 years ago at my LSS as my backdrop.  The pink is Pink Passion from SU! The flower stamp is by Hero Arts and it is one of the first stamps I purchased when I started making cards.  I colored the stamp with SU! markers prior to stamping.  Finally the sentiment is by SU from 2001- Whew, talk about holding on to things for a while.  The flowers were made with a punch from Recollections, and the gems are from Pizzazz APlenty. The twine has been in my stash forever also.  The only new thing on this card is the Scallop Tag Topper by SU! which I just got a couple of weeks ago.  I embossed the pink panel with the SU! Square Lattice folder, which is a favorite of mine.  I guess that about tells the whole story of this card.  Wishing you all a fantastic day and thanks for popping in to see me.

Owh Sketch Challenge #247

I wanted to share a card I managed to get done this morning while the snow was blowing.  We never did lose our power because it was so cold that the snow was fluffier than they had predicted and therefore not heavy enough to bring down any wires.  We still have (to this point) 15 inches and they say maybe another 5-10 before it ends tonight.  So I got both cards and hats made today.  Here is a card I made for Operation Write Home's Sketch challenge.

As you can see I didn't exactly follow the sketch, leaving off the horizontal strip.  I wasn't happy with anything I tried for that part, so I let it be.
I used a Di's Digi image titled Bearable Friends found here.    I colored it with Copics and did some playing around with a background for it.  It is cut out with a SB die.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts.  The purple dotted paper is from my LSS and I forgot the manufacturer, sorry. The green is parchment paper I've had for years and the other is SU! Lavender Lace.  I embossed the parchment with the Swiss Dot embossing folder.  That is about all there is from this craft room today.  Thanks for visiting.  Wishing you all a terrific day.

GOTCHA!

Happy Sunday Morning, I hope your weekend is going good.  We got about 5 inches of snow yesterday and they are calling for a possible blizzard Monday night so I thought this was a great time to make a card with a darling new set Deedee Anderson has in her shop.   It is titled "Snowball Fight" which is something I may do with Hubby today.  Shh! don't tell him.
Just reminding you my photography is not my strong suit.  I used one of the sentiments from the set and the pre-colored version of this image but then I just added a few white dots to the sweater and hat, for a little change.  I also added some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the pile of snowballs, the snow on the ground as well as a few of the dots on the folder, but I can't seem to get them to show in the photo.  I placed a few little hearts which are negatives from a MS border punch in the centers of a few of the snowflakes and also embossed the sentiment piece with a Swiss Dot folder.
I take a "Background Class" with Marie Gamber over at  Color Me Creative and this week Marie asked us to try using our embossing folders in a different way.  So I brayered some Lavendar Lace ink onto my embossing folder and this is what I came up with.  I am pleased with the way it turned out.  Well I'm wishing you all a nice day and if you are in the path of the "possible" blizzard they are predicting please stay safe.  Thanks for paying me a visit today.  As always I really appreciate your company.

Addicted to Stamps & More - Holiday

Hello, this morning I'm here to share a card I made for Addicted To Stamps & More!.  I picked July 4th as my holiday this time around.
This week the Addicted To Stamps & More's challenge is being sponsored by Deedee's Digis so I used a pre-colored image from Deedee.  It's a very busy week for me so the pre-colored image came in very handy.  cut both the image and the sentiment out with SB dies and sponged around both with SU! Bashful Blue ink.  The background paper is from an older Scrapbook Calender. I'm so glad I kept these pages because they have some terrific papers and even some cute little image you can use on a card or a scrapbook page.  I added a piece of red ribbon and three little pearl gems from Pizzazz APlenty to complete this holiday card.   Once again I have to apologize for this somewhat blurry photo, taking pictures is just not my thing.   Off to bring in some wood because we are expecting some snow over the weekend.  Hope so - Hubby has been waiting for a good snow storm.

Thinking Of You

I'm sharing a card I did for CFHK (Cards For Hospitalized Kids).  I just love this image by Wild Rose and I was hoping a child would love it also.
I colored it with Copics and then I went over the deer with two different colored Prisma Colored Pencils to give it more of a textured  look, a tip I learns from Marie Gamber.  I also stamped some tiny purple flowers with a stamp I've had for years.  Sponged the sky and  then matted the image with black card stock.  The paper is from a stack of papers that I received as a wonderful gift.  My sentiment is by Hero Arts.  Hope you all had a fun weekend and wishing you a great week ahead.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I always love the company.

You Hoo! I love You

I was digging though older stuff the other day and took out my SU! Owl punch.  I used sketch #1 from OWH for this card.
I guess I really felt like changing things up a bit because I used two different papers and two different embossing folders (hearts and dots). I liked it when I did it but I'm not so sure at the moment.    The sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly and I've had it for years.  That's about it for me today.  Have a crafty day and thank you so much for your visit.

You Anchor Me

I've been working on cards for OWH for the past couple of days and here is one that I like myself.
Shhh! I think I'll make another one of these for Hubby as he does anchor me.

Both the image and the sentiment are by Deedee Anderson's set titled "Set Sail".  You can find it in her store under "Seasons/Summer" section.  Right now everything in Deedee's store is on sale, so now is the time to grab up this image and many more.

My papers, embossing folder and the punch are all by SU, however the paper is retired.  I thought this would be a great card for some family member to receive from a hero that is away.     It was super easy to make which is always a plus.  That will be it for posting today as I am hoping to spend the rest of the day at the desk making cards.  I've got a bunch of ideas rolling around in my head for the Sailor Daniel image.  Thanks a bunch for your visit.

S & S Sketch #246

Hello Everyone, I had a few minutes to make up a card for the challenge over at OWH's Star & Stamps Challenge found here.

I love this sketch because you can make many darling little cards in a short while.  I used a pre-colored image from Deedee Anderson.  The title of this precious set is "Daniel's Sweetheart".  You can, of-course use the line drawing and color it yourself, but I thought it was perfect just the way Deedee colored it.  My background paper was in my stash.  The sentiment is from SU! and the flower punch is by Recollections.  I added a little pearl from Pizzazz APlenty to the center of the flower.  My final little touch was a heart that I punched from SU's Owl punch set.  Thanks for popping in.  Hope to see you again soon.

Masculine Brithday

I had to make a birthday card for a good friend of ours today so I did up this quick one.

The stamp, corner punch and paper are all retired from SU! The sentiment is from CC Rubber Company.   I stamped the deer and sentiment in Versa Mark and then embossed it with Clear Powder.  My Basic Grey and Night Of Navy card stock are both from SU!.  This one went together in less than 15 minutes.  Yay for me!!!!  That will do it for me today.  Hope you all have a great upcoming weekend.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by.

May Happiness Rain Down On You

Hi, I have a spring time card I put together this morning.   It is so cold here in New England that I needed to work on something that could warm me up.
This is a 5 1/2 inch square and the image is by SNSS.  I colored it with Copics and I sponged the sky with SU's Bashful Blue.  My sentiment is from Stampabilities and the tear drop gems are from my stash and not in there original packaging (imagine!) I punched the corners with a retired SU! punch.  The mats are Taken With Teal by SU! and the paper was in the stash also.  That will do it for me today.  Gonna spend some time sitting next to the fire today and probably the rest of the week.  Wishing you all a good day.  Thanks for your visit.

W2SB & Deedee's Open Again

Hello, I'm here today with my card for Words 2 Scrap By Challenge #you choose the words and also with some very good news.  Deedee's Digis is open once again.  YAY!  A lot of smaller digital image companies were forced to close due to the European VAT tax but I guess they worked it all out and found a way to reopen the stores that were affected.
These days everything seems to be # this or # that so the girls over at W2SB  decided we should hop on the band wagon and make our own # remarks. So here is what I did.

I used a pre-colored image from Deedee's Happy Healing set . I cut it out with  a SB square die and sponged SU's Bashful Blue all around before I removed it from the die.  The sentiment is also from the same set and I added the # sign.  No matter how many times I've taken this picture this morning, the sentiment seems to come out blurry.  I apologize for that.  The mats are Basic Black and the background paper is from a Winter Pack by DCVW.  I added a piece of SU! ribbon and a MS border punch and I was done.  Very busy day today so the pre-colored image really came in handy.  Head on over to W2SB to see all the interesting made up #signs and join in on the fun. The girls would love to see you and I thank you for stopping by today.  Enjoy your Sunday.

ODBD Challenge For January

I am back with a second post today.  This one is for the ODBD January Challenge for Operation Write Home.  This month they are looking for Any Hero Cards.  This could be a hero in the armed services or even your local Police or Fire departments, First Responders, etc.  It is always a nice idea to thank those who protect or help us in any way.  I think this is a terrific idea and I plan on sending several of these types of cards to our local heroes as well.   Here is my card for a Hero that will be going into the next OWH box.

I started this card by picking out the paper first, which is a sheet from a scrap booking calendar that I received as a gift three years ago.  I kept all the sheets so that I could use the papers from them on cards.  I colored the hat and the sentiment to match the colors in the paper.  I started coloring the hat, the flag and the sentiment without any problems but when I started the little bear I realized that this was printed on a paper that does not work so well with Copics because my initial intention was to use colored pencils.  As I was so far into it I proceeded anyway and as you can see I had trouble blending the bear the way I'd like to but I'm hoping the hero that gets this won't mind too much.  Keeping my fingers crossed.  I added some Glossy Accents to his nose and eyes.  I cut him out with SB Square and Postage Stamp dies.  On the sentiment piece I used one of my go-to corner punches.  My mats are Chocolate Chip from SU!  Hope your Saturday is going smoothly and I thank you for your visit today.   See you again soon.  I'm happy that I'm getting to spend some extra time in my craft room lately.

You Are So Sweet

Happy Saturday Everyone.  Hope you are having a great day.  I thought I'd share a card I made for CFHK today.  I had this SNSS stamp ( a few others) inked up and colored for a while now so I decided it was time to make some cards with them.  Here is one I whipped up this morning.

It is colored with Copics and a bit of Wink of Stellar added to the strawberry.  The sentiment is computer generated.  The card stock I used was Cherry Cobbler and Black and I am sorry but I don't know who the designer paper is by.  It was in my stash.  Just added three stickers and I was done. The one on the tail is not too visible in this photo but it is there.   Hope this one puts a smile on some child's face and he or she will know just how sweet they are.  Thanks for popping in and I hope to see you again soon.  Enjoy your weekend.
