Happy 90th Birthday

I'd thought I'd share a card with you that I made for a dear 90 year old lady.  She is the mother of a very good friend of mine and I've known her for years.
Oh I just noticed that the small heart on the right hand side is crooked.  I'll be sure to fix that as soon as I finish this post.  I used Soft Sky, Whisper White and the sentiment stamp all from SU!.  The flourish from Cherry Lynn (which I cut in half to make larger) and the flowers from a punch I've had for years and I have no idea who it is by, while the heart punch is by MS.   I ran a gold Sharpie pen around the SB dies just to make them stand out a bit more.  I also embossed the white panel with a Cuttlebug Heart folder.
This lady is still (at 90) playing Mrs. Claus, Mother Goose and does face painting for children at all sorts of different events.  She is a remarkable person and it doesn't look like she is going to retire any time soon.  I wish I had half of her energy.   That will have to do it for me for a couple of days. Thank you very much for stopping by.

  1. Oh Donna (remember that song by Richie Valens?) this is such a beautiful card for a 90-yr old! I love the pretty colors, gold outlined diecuts and especially how you cleverly cut that flourish to make it larger! (slapping forehead wondering why I never thought to try that) It's a real beauty and she'll love it!

  3. Stunning! I love the color you used and the focal point being on the sentiment. Very creative use of that die too. Simply a beautiful card for what sounds like is a beautiful lady! How fun! I hope if I live that long I'll be as active.

  21. Donna, this is lovely (and if you had not mentioned, the heart would not have been noticed!) This happens to me all the time, when I see the photo, I see something that didn't get straight! The blue & white is always a graceful & elegant colorway, and this very active & caring lady is going to love it AND you, for taking time to remember her in such a lovely way. Hope her birthday is Just Grand! Hugs to her, and you as well. Happy TDay, & TFS
